Good start today, 2 wickets in the first 45 mins. National holiday in India today, sun has broken through earlier than yesterday, stands are filling up and we’ve just brought Mark Wood on. Feels it’ll be hot today, sat in the south stand and it’s cooler, official Barmy Army baking in the sun in the West Stand.
With no alcohol sales ( national holiday) and water and sunscreen being taken off you at the gate?

Not looking good.
I raises my eyebrows a little when I read what duckett said about being in a good position.
Not sure about that one.

Yep, though we ordered a mini fridge full of beer last night from room service and we managed to get water, battery charger and sanitizer in today.

2 quick wickets have given us a sniff , 1 more wicket and they’re 10/11 can barely hold a bat . Though Patel can bat and if they get past 400 it’s gonna take a mammoth effort vs their spinners

Just read that Ben Duckett says that after the 1st day, England are happy with the score that they got and are in a strong position!
Wonder if he's changed his mind!

Game going pretty much as expected after seeing the line ups. Under England these days you know in the first hour or two what the result is going to be doesn’t seem to much tactical thought out into the game.

Root coming in for his hat trick ball, 7 men round the bat. He missed but we knocked them over next over. Can’t see us lasting the day, this pitch will turn square for them.

I just don’t understand Ollie Pope’s inclusion in this team…… his decision making is that of a 3 yr old.
Watch him get 100 now.
We’re 130 behind and he’s reverse sweeping at the 2nd ball. Daft lad.

Great session from England.

More runs scored from the reverse sweep than any other shot. Ended up getting the field where they wanted it.

They practice that shot as much as any other shot in the modern game.

Some people don't like it, but it's not just like they randomly play it in a brain freeze moment.

Great effort CW .

Thankfully watching at EOT is less hassle - plenty of beer
water on tap and sunscreen never required.😎

Another pair of fails from the overweight Yorkie. At least he’s not dropping them behind the stumps as well in this series.

He’s the latest addition to the famous Yorkshire barrel academy, with Bresnan, McGrath and Hoggard.

Yep it certainly was. I’m glad he’s doing well this innings but I don’t think my comments were out of order at all.

He’s been carried for quite a long time

Since 2022, he's made 4 hundreds and is averaging over 40. How long roughly do you think he's been carried for just out of interest?

I can't disagree with that, but that seems to be the England way, perhaps a belief that while form is temporary, ability is permanent and it's not as if we've a queue of proven alternatives waiting in the wings. It's not long ago that the spectating public, myself included, were calling for Crawley to be dropped.

One of them hundreds was in a test against Ireland so that comes out straight away haha.

All jokes aside I think he hit a bit of form against New Zealand in 2022 but has shown little since then to justify being vice captain and picked every test.

I actually think our line up looked stronger without him against the Aussies.

I don’t feel too strongly about it, so please don’t think I never want to see him starting. I just don’t think he should be a certain starter

You must hate international football then if you don't want to include success against minnows.

Should Kanes goals only count against the top 6 ranked countries in the world?

There's two exciting test matches going on at the minute. England have battled back to set India 231 to win, with Pope falling short of s double century on 194.

I don't think anyone gave us a chance of that.

In Australia, the Aussies need 30 runs with 2 wickets left.

Had to switch over to watch the end of the Oz v WI test - bloody brilliant! Joseph 7-68! Hell of a performance. Yelled a little too loud when he bowled Hazlewood - woke the Mrs up! (11:30pm here in California).
