You reckon Kompany signed a contract extension because players were being bought for profit and not to improve the team ?
Nobody knows why he signed a new deal, but it's a fact that we signed players who haven't improved the team.
To be fair though, since they were his signings, he probably did think they would improve the team. He just got it catastrophically wrong.

I don’t know his reasons for signing a contract extension, but he was presumably handsomely rewarded for doing so. I also suspect he may have something to gain financially by trading said players.
Either way, that’s not really got anything to do with my point. It’s quite clear we prioritised player trading for financial gain above building a squad that could compete this season.

Everton have had 29% of the ball and have had 8 shots, 2 on target.

Every time I watch Luton I think that they must tire eventually but they don't. They must be fit to play like they do for 90 minutes.

It's not going well.
Never mind, we can pick up points tomorrow.
Who is it we're playing?

If Sheffield win tonight that would be 8 points from 6 league games for Wilder.
I know it’s controversial what is everyone’s thoughts on a new manager bounce for us this season? Do you think it could potentially save us? Or would it be too little too late (like Sheffield)

I said last season after Luton played us on the Turf that I thought signing Adebayo would improve us. Looked a handful everytime I've seen him. Two goals tonight.

Nah. Too much of a project going on. And Sheffield play in Northern Premier League Division One East. (Sorry, pet hate!)

I think that would possibly be the worst news for us.
Everton would be dead certs for promotion next season
When you say that, do you consider how absolutely financially devastating it would be for a highly indebtedness club like Everton to get relegated and that they’d have to sell all their best players, thus you have no idea what players they’d have?

Most on here would run through a brick wall for Burnley, but they can also read the writing on it while they do.

I don’t think anyone is giving up, just being realistic. If Everton get some of their points back then we are going to have to finish above Luton and Sheffield United plus a team currently running at a point per game. To get to a point per game, we would now need 26 more points from the final 17 games. As I said, it’s being realistic.

Everton might get some back and then lose more for the latest infringement
. They had that run of games and are struggling again now. Probably win tonight though with the way it is going with the other scores.

It wouldn’t matter one bit. Things would possibly improve slightly if the new guy was to make the obvious changes (Muric for Trafford etc) but we’re that bad over most positions in the team that we wouldn’t be good enough to get the required points anyhow.

Imagine the embarrassment of finishing below them though when they've had two separate point deductions, tragic

Our only realistic, almost pathetic hope is that Everton get more points taken off them, and Forest get points deducted. That said, Sheffield and Luton seem to fight harder than us and are more equipped for a battle.
VK said on the town hall balcony I want you to make Turf Moor hell next season, it's certainly been that.

It's really pretty poor that we could finish below Sheffield United (possibly) and Luton (more and more likely) after being streets ahead of them a year ago. Especially Luton. But they're everything we're not this season and three words come to mind - identity, effective, savvy.

Hardly surprising when you don’t kick up a point in your first seven home games and concede twenty goals in them. It’s been hell alright.

I fear after Luton’s (likely) victory tonight and our (almost certain) thumping tomorrow that Saturday will be the day things turn toxic in the stands if we go behind to Fulham.

I agree RV, particularly since it’s a bit late in the day to be changing course.
There’s a long way to go to see if this strategy works but I definitely agree we need to double down on it and see where it takes us.

Trafford, Al-Dakhil, Odobert, Koleosho, Ramsey, Foster, Amdouni, Massengo, Zaroury. Berge just above the age category for a ‘gem’ but a top signing.

Good players but the way some go on, you would think we signed the next Neymar.
Not sure either are a scratch on McNeil when he broke through.
