I’m glad we aren’t allowing low options to buy for someone like zaroury, forest getting 10m loan fee and 20m mandatory fee for Mangela when he hasn’t done anything for them

I bloody hope it’s not our last transfer. Insanity we are not going for a left back

Re: January transfer window rumours.
We’ve been linked with several left backs. Clear they are ‘going for one’, doesn’t mean they will definitely land one though. Esteve has played left back and plays wide left centre back in a 3 for Montpellier, perhaps Kompany might use him as a left centre back in possession, left back out of possession?gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 3:03 pmI bloody hope it’s not our last transfer. Re: January transfer window rumours.
Strange decision to put Zaroury on the bench instead of Tresor last night when hes on his way out. Maybe Kompany was impressed with Tresor's outing v Luton as the rest of us.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
The effort put into securing Tressor has borne no relationship to the expected outcome on the pitch.
VK suggested we were getting a top player the reality is far from that.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
English clubs only allowed 7 senior players out on loan, we already have Peacock Farrell twine McNally weghorst obafemi churlinov, so that means we can only loan one of Roberts, benson, zaroury

Re: January transfer window rumours.
That is the reality, so far. You don’t always get the best out of players immediately - some take longer than others to integrate. Foster is an example of a player who didn’t hit the ground running but has since come good.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 3:40 pmThe effort put into securing Tressor has borne no relationship to the expected outcome on the pitch.

But not all transfers work out. They don’t for any club. Try being a United or a Forest fan, for example. I have no idea why our fans expect otherwise.

Unless it’s only 7 domestic loans
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Probably just teaching him a lesson or he had a light injury maybe. Think he was getting better and better at the end of the year. Definitely expect to see alot more from him coming months.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
We can hardly see less. Saying he was getting better and better is exaggerating it a bit. He showed some nice glimpses v Liverpool but his end product was woeful. Thats about it.
How long do we wait? That money could have gone on someone who would have actually contributed.

Re: Esteve in on loan
Hi Ian,
As a Rugby fan of some vintage, I saw " IanMcL and " Esteve in on loan " on the " Beehole End " front page, and these two came straight to mind, Ian McLauchlan & Alain Esteve ..

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Down the M65 they’re getting another Liverpool player on loan ,they seem to have a good rapport with the Scousers they’ve previously had Harvey Elliott ,and a couple more that have made the grade,
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Broja joining Fulham on loan from Chelsea.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
During the 2022/23 season, a club can loan out a maximum of eight players and this number will be reduced further by one player each season. Put simply, FIFA have set this regulation so that a maximum of six players will be allowed out on loan in the 2024/25 season. The aim of this is to promote competitiveness, youth player development and prevent player hoarding by certain clubs that have a reputation of having a large squad and are loaning out players year after year. For example, Chelsea are the most publicised example of this; often loaning out around 20 players every season so this may have a substantial effect on such clubs.
The only players that are exempt from these new regulations are players aged 21 and younger and those that have been trained through the youth academy system at the club. The limitations do not apply to them to prevent restriction of free movement.
Maybe it didn’t pass through

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I was hoping someone would come in for Trafford.
Oh well.
Oh well.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Now then, apparently there’s at least two of us who don’t think he’s good enough. It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 5:54 pmI was hoping someone would come in for Trafford.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
His end product is his main asset. He made 24 assists last season in a dominant team. Now he has to run after players which is something he never had to do. I don't understand he's not starting every game vs teams from the bottom half of the league.Goliath wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 4:55 pmWe can hardly see less. The fact he played well vs Liverpool is already a good sign that he's adjusting to the physicality of the PL.
He's still by far our best player technically if you like it or not.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Most enthusiastic I've seen on his signing video, so for that alone he's my second new fav player, just behind Massengo.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
It was his best asset when he had time and space to think and had less work to do defensively. Theres currently no evidemce that he can produce it at this levelAnthonini wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 6:09 pmHis end product is his main asset. He made 24 assists last season in a dominant team. Re: January transfer window rumours.
So I’m pretty sure we’ve not packed up and gone home even after Assignon.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 3:03 pmI bloody hope it’s not our last transfer. Insanity we are not going for a left back
Not sure whether we’ll get another over the line or if it’ll be a LB, but do know we made a massive effort on Oosterwolde so even if we didn’t get one, we have tried very hard.
Finding players of the right quality who want to come here and we can afford is not going to be easy.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Is it a straight loan or loan with option or obligation, can’t see what’s in it for his parent club finance wise if it’s just an option
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Give it a rest. He's clearly our no.1, irrespective of what you think!
