Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
I’d keep him and let him try and bring us back but it’s getting poorer by the game, no doubt about that. He will have very little time next season to get us firing though in terms of patience.
Pace will sack him Monday though, feels about the moment for him just like when he did it with Dyche. I.e, too late to make any difference to the seasons outcome, after giving the guy a massive contract and getting rid of a proven promotion winner when you’re already relegated. He’s such a clever man.

Doubt they'd want him now.

Go.
The ripping apart of a winning team for that dross. Even if you do bring in two, three or four new players surely you play a main spine of that team to give them a chance.
First game only two players started, and the performances have gone worse especially since before Xmas.

Removing Kompany now would be like bringing Benson on in the 90th minute today (I will explain that it’s what Kompany did today because some people on here will inevitably miss that point).
It’s pointless, because it’s too late.
It’s pointless, because it’s too late.

Stay - at least in the short term - give him a chance to redeem himself.
He at least deserves that chance in my opinion.

Go, his choices in defence are beyond belief, we had an acceptable keeper, let Trafford learn his trade in the under 23s

Come on Paul... stay.... he's made some bad calls... has credit in the bank. Needs to learn... Couldn't think of a better manager for a Championship assault.oswyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:27 pmBefore the game I would have said STAY...but now,I haven't got a clue which way to vote!!

Genuinely don't care if he stays or goes.
I dread to think who ALK would replace him with if he walks.

If he stays (I won’t be surprised if he’s sacked this week) he’ll have to start next season like a house on fire.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him sacked over the weekend.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:15 pmI’d keep him and let him try and bring us back but it’s getting poorer by the game, no doubt about that. Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
Maybe we should keep him on while we extensively search for his replacement.
Though it's not fair to keep sending him out like that as a young upcoming manager, and it won't do his mental health any good with all the scrutiny on him - as he's clearly not ready to manage at this level - it's only what he does to our goalkeeper so it serves him right I suppose.

Don’t hide behind ‘the plan’. Tell us what it is, if there really is one, because it all sounds like a convenient cover for absolute sh!te at the moment.

Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
I still stand by there is no one around to take the job on to rebuild next season, and there is no way Potter would go to a championship team, but if he did throw his hat in the ring I think a lot of the VK in would change. I am VK in but it’s getting hard to see how he changes it next season considering he has been so stubborn this season with blatant poor decisions constantly being made

Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
I'm going to apologise in advance for not simply voting as per the thread title.
Simply put, I'm not sure anymore. This season has been the worst I've ever seen from us, relative to the league we're in. It's a "team" (and that's stretching a term to breaking point) that's getting worse by the game.
Baffling team selections, week after week, use of subs even more head scratching, players from last seasons title winning team completely given up on. That last one I think has really killed the harmony of this group.
Then there's the loyalty to certain players who play regardless. Amdouni and Trafford being probably the two obvious ones, remarkable that neither of those two have had a spell out the team, then again weren't they the two most expensive signings....?
I think I'd be more inclined to say "stay" to this question if there was any indication that's he learning anything as the season has gone on. But there isn't a shred of evidence to say he's learnt anything, on the contrary he keeps making the same mistakes time after time.
To finally answer this question, despite everything, I'm probably still leaning towards him staying, but in all honesty, I'm at the point now where if we announce he's gone on Monday (which wouldn't surprise me) I'd probably just shrug my shoulders at the news.

Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
This question gets harder with every passing week.
Stay.
Not debate but my reasoning:- But I think we need to give VK a long break from the club this summer in order for him to contemplate this season and able to reevaluate his choices this term in the cold light of day, without the noise.
I think VK is tired and has struggled for the clarity of thought needed since the very beginning of the season… possibly a result of his strange attempt at getting an edge pre-season.
I am not writing him off, far from it but think as someone who is clearly a deep thinker VK has tied himself in knots this season over complicating the challenges and expect his mental clarity is not what he would hoped as a result. Give him time to re-assess and ask him if he thinks he can go again once he’s had a rest.
I am now willing to admit we have gone as a Premier League team, and would be embarrassed more if we stayed up because of the penalties imposed on other teams, because much as I want them punished had it happened at season end two seasons ago, we’d have deserved to stay up… this season we don’t.

Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
Too late to change this season. I wanted him out weeks ago. It’s a big if we get promoted as he’s torn up last season team and killed the spirit. The manner of the defeats have become embarrassing. Pace is beginning to look foolish. Kompany out, Trafford out, otherwise Pace out.

Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
I'll copy and paste what I put on the match thread
There is not a single chance whatsoever we will be anywhere near automatic promotion next season such is our low starting position ( so let's knock that notion on the head for starters) with an absolutely shot, lightweight squad ( the championship is recognised as being far more physical)and a number of players who have been cast aside cruelly and without any real reason.
Would you run through brick walls again next season in the Championship knowing you'll be more than likely f*cked off without reason the season after in the prem.
WOULD YOU F*CK AS LIKE
It needs a new start and a new direction asap

Re: Simple vote for Kompany to stay or go…no debate
Stay, just about. But my confidence and patience with VK is waning rapidly week by week. I'm still thinking we need to be careful what we wish for and if he did go (which he won't), then who do we bring in now that can save our season, or get us straight back up with this squad? There is bound to be massive changes again in summer. I'm very concerned for us in the summer and if we don't make a good start to next seasonn in the championship then he simply has to go. VK and the board have got it horribly wrong in the two transfer windows and Kompanys team selections and tactics have been bewildering this season at best.
