As ever he talks a good game, if only the team could play as well as he talks!?

That's about 8 minutes of my life I won't get back.

Kompany laughing was the final straw.

As ever VK stays positive and talks about the next game and how it can’t come quick enough.
Rinse and repeat. It’s all philosophical stuff but nothing pragmatic to build on.

What do you expect him to say? He’s forced to face the media after a flattening defeat.

He can explain why we have been relegated in a whimper

We aren’t relegated yet. If he did that now he would be rightly accused of being defeatist and too negative.

It would be useful in these interviews to actually be able to hear the questions being asked so we know what he’s answering too

Well if you think we have a good enough squad, have enough goals in the team and are not proned to any more stupid errors thus good enough to survive I have a bridge in London for sale if your interested ?
Another good question would be why are Luton doing better than us considering the points difference last season and why are they capable of even winning games when going 1 goal behind ?

He’s probs fine, he can’t do no wrong in the owners eyes and is seemingly under 0 pressure despite the worst season pound for pound in our history. Last seasons credit has gone for me, we are a sh1t show from top to bottom at the moment.

Make me feel better as then once he has explained it we can then ask him why we should keep him employed ? Going out fighting is fine we have failed at every junction - lame ducks is a better explanation. Then again we could sell our 100m player (might be 2 noughts too many like) and keep fingers firmly crossed.

First half we did play quite well, second half was one of the worst halves of football I’ve seen in regards of quality from both teams

Dyche said it every week too and he was rarely right, the Everton fans are already sick of the same lines he comes out with every week. Typical manager speak, doesn't mean they are clueless.

In regards to dyche saying after the game that Everton’s ugly performance was by design, I’m not buying that at all. They just aren’t very good but we are worse and gifted them a goal. Dyche didn’t set up any different to what he normally does. Yes without points deduction Everton would be comfortably safe but they are still crap

But yet we still managed to stay up. Admittedly we were really struggling in his last season, but we still had more points from fewer games than we have now.

In Dyche's first PL season we went down with 33 points and were competitive most of the time. I don't think we'll get anywhere near that now.

I literally said in the post you replied to they are bad but we are worse.

In the cup they dominated. The game at home they were again terrible but scored from a corner when Trafford didn’t jump.

Everton couldn’t of asked for a better team to come today to try and end their 13 game losing run, it was always going to be us

I don't need to read it back, you said in his first season we got relegated with more points. Well, lets give Dyche the relegated with more points trophy if it makes you feel better - the point I made was we still got relegated, who cares if we got 33 points, 24 points, 12 points - the outcome is the season after we are playing in the Championship where I might add, Kompany has a FAR better record than Dyche.

Interesting debate about Kompany and Dyche above, but it is harsh to call Everton a terrible team. They are TOP on expected goals scored from set pieces, near bottom on expected goals conceded. These stats show they do what is needed. Ugly but effective, as ever from Dyche. They would never go down.

As for us, we are better than 6 teams and ahead of Newcastle who are above us on expected goals conceded from open play. Where we rank badly, second worse on both measures, is expcted goals scored from both open play and set pieces.

So we have to give VK credit. He knew at the start of the season scoring goals would be the problem, hence he bought all these attackers so as form or fitness shifts, they can rotate. It hasn’t worked, he isn’t yet experienced enough. But it was and is the problem.

Yesterday the problem was not scoring 2 goals, needed to win almost any PL game unless you are Everton. Only Arsenal have more clean sheets than Everton, but 9 teams have 5 or fewer. So they can’t be relied on to win games.

I don't understand the emphasis on expected goals.

And it's clear to see we've had problems at both ends of the pitch - we've been so open and poor defensively.

Our support this season, considering the results from the ten games/size of the town/cost of living/price of the matches has actually been superb in all honesty.

After yesterday I still feel that SD had passed his sell by date with us. He won’t last for many more seasons at Everton as they are atrocious to watch despite a far better squad than ours.
Despite failure this season, VK deserves another shot next season. In case he succeeds again, it’s then the club needs to make sure the same mistakes are avoided.

No it hasn’t.”Turning up” and “supporting” aren’t the same. At some points this season our “support” has been embarrassing.

No it hasn’t.”Turning up” and “supporting” aren’t the same. At some points this season our “support” has been embarrassing.
Maybe you should have bought that drum Alan.

Is that Matt Williams who is interviewing Josh Cullen? Perhaps we're cutting back on staff costs already...

VK has made way to many serious mistakes to be considered a PL manager.right now. He may become a good manager but right now he ain’t Signings and team selection have cost us dearly all season long. I am amazed how he has gone from the messiah to the destroyer in one short season. Did he get lucky last season or was he a genius.? Has he been unlucky this season especially with decisions and injuries? Maybe. But with the funds he has had available this season for whatever the reasons has been an EPIC FAIL. If Pace uses the same logic as he did with Dyche then he 100% should fire him and the horde of back room staff with him. Dyche had little financial support and was fired.
Are we in a better position now than when Dyche left ? We have a very inexperienced Chairman and board ( in football terms) and a manager who continues to make bad decisions on a daily basis. Just look at our record this season. 7 red cards ! Points dropped from winning positions! Players getting injured ! Players getting paid and never playing ( not even in U21 teams ) Square pegs in round holes ! Breaking all the wrong records I could go on
Personally I have seen enough of VK and Pace. Do I trust them with the future of our club ? No. I just hope and pray we do not become another victim of The Premier League. We are certainly one of the worst teams to go down along with Sheffield United

I think it's clear that Pace wanted a change of direction e.g. style and type of players, so Pace's logic and thinking has been different.

Edwards is a good manager, good man too. Whilst you would have to congratulate them on taking the risk on Barkley they are VERY lucky they got the version of him they did.
Its not about luck. Its about managing players.

People thought Dyche was 'lucky' with Joey Barton. But he was able to manage the player and get good value out of him - AND had built a dressing room with a strong team culture that ensured Barton couldn't step out of line.
