Yellow away strip
Just seen on Twitter we are playing in last seasons yellow away strip today that will give us the boost to bring the 3 points home.
Every little helps.

After the week the Club has had perhaps they are distancing themselves from the gambling fraternity and reverting back to home furnishings.

Just watched the York game again and guess what we are in yellow again.

Same kit, but we will still have to have Defabet on.matucana wrote:After the week the Club has had perhaps they are distancing themselves from the gambling fraternity and reverting back to home furnishings.
It'll be a legal obligation.
I'll be reasonably happy if we get a similar result and keep Palace to the lack or real chances West Ham had.

Re: Yellow away strip
Yellow is the brightest colour. That's why it's used on number plates and incidentally why Ken Morrison choose it for his company logo.
It should mean players find it easier to spot each other, especially against a background of claret, blues, and greys (popular colour of coats).
Great reason to adopt this colour permanently!
Let's hope it works. UTC!

Re: Yellow away strip
Do colourblind players genuinely find it difficult to spot a teammate?

George Boyd failed an eye test once...
I like yellow or white away kits. Always seem smart.

Re: Yellow away strip
Did you know that American school buses are yellow because humans see yellow quicker than any other colour, which is important for avoiding accidents.
Well... Palace didn't see us coming!

Re: Yellow away strip
Yellow can also been seen by people who are coloured blind and it easier to see if you are losing your vision as it has a big contrast to the sourounding colours. It's why the front of trains are yellow. And today we went like a train! UTC!

I'd prefer us to be like a bus... not win away all season and then 2 come along at once.

As a colorblind person, who plays football, yes.gandhisflipflop wrote:Do colourblind players genuinely find it difficult to spot a teammate?
Certain shades clash badly. It only really effects situations where you are relying on peripheral vision though, as you can recognise faces obviously, the movement of your own team, etc. the rest of the time.
Re: Yellow away strip
Same for a supporter and an official too. We once played Boro away on a Tuesday night and we wore our all navy kit with the light blue stripe across the middle. Boro were in all red with a white stripe across the chest. The dark kits coupled with the evening sky meant I spent the whole game guessing which team were in possession.gandhisflipflop wrote:Do colourblind players genuinely find it difficult to spot a teammate?
I can also remember running a line with one team in orange shirts and black shorts and the other in green shirts and black shorts. I'll admit that I guessed on a number of offside decisions.
As for the yellow kit, get it worn at Bournemouth.
Re: Yellow away strip
Yellow at Bournemouth please.
Re: Yellow away strip
Wish they would sell this kit in the club shop, I'd definitely buy one.

To me, yellow with claret and blue trim is the instinctive choice for Burnley away kits.

Re: Yellow away strip
linesman flag also yellow. Went up in 92 with yellow.
Didnt win an away game in green and black. United struggled with grey. We were awful with grey.
We should wear yellow all the time!
Campaign?

Re: Yellow away strip
It's last season's other than putting this season's sponsor on it. We've opted not to have three kits but use previous season's second kit if we need to, as at West Ham and Palace this year.Firthy wrote:Wish they would sell this kit in the club shop, I'd definitely buy one.

Re: Yellow away strip
For some bizarre and non-sensical reason, I was inflated with confidence seeing the yellow strip was out. Silly I know! My son didn`t even wear his Burnley strip (just a white `Burnley 1882` t-shirt to bed). Allied to those, I wore no Burnley colours and didn`t even watch the game (1:30am after 15 hours with two wee kids) so the 4 together won the game for Burnley. Well done Clarets - must be honest, if I`d have seen the teamsheet before going to bed I might have struggled to drop off.

Why is blue away kit anyway? Clashes with most when we need to swap.
