Preferred the National earlier.
Grohl learned from the master Kurt Cobain, saw nirvana steal the show at Reading 1990. I find Foos music a little tedious, but it Defo feels like a worthy headline set.

Just about to watch Alt-J on the internets.
Btw, as much as Winstonswhite is trying to poo on the thread, he sorta' has a point. Guitar music has suffered a dearth of creativity for about a decade, now. Hip-hop and electronic is the vanguard of creativity. Listen to Kendrick Lamar then listen to the Foo's and tell me where music is truly going. Rock music is dead, IMO. (Or to be more precise hip-hop is the new rock music, i.e. confrontational, aggressive, challenging the establishment).

get your point to a degree, but live that sort of stuff doesn;t stand up...a good live band is pretty hard to beat. and the Foo;s have been the best headline act ive seen in years, ....
Re: Glastonbury
Guitar music always goes sterile. In the 80s it was shite. The 90s it was shite post oasis say 97-2000 Then the strokes gave it one almighty kick up the arse the libertines helped it until Arctic monkeys arrived. The thing is people try and copy without ability. Take courteeners, kasabian , shite etc.

Wouldn't disagree in terms of live performances. Even the Stones are still a brilliant live act.Goalposts wrote:get your point to a degree, but live that sort of stuff doesn;t stand up...a good live band is pretty hard to beat. and the Foo;s have been the best headline act ive seen in years, ....
'Tallica (another guitar band) at the MEN Arena years ago is probably the most complete live performance I've seen, and they haven't released a worthwhile studio album since 1988.

Music snobbery is the worst kind. Other people like all kinds of different stuff and that by no means impacts your enjoyment of what you like. You are not forced to listen to anything.

That's how my Spotify playlists can include a song from the US Civil War and Pendulum.

It's possible to appreciate an underground hip-hop musician whilst also enjoying Glasto's headliner. You're acting like a f.ucking troglodyte, WEC.

The criticism of Elvis was to do with overt male sexuality.

You're a lunatic, WEC. Honestly, you're absolutely nuts. And cheers for everyone who has attempted to ruin this thread by telling other posters they are apparently beneath them, too. This thread, on here and back on ClaretsMad back in the day, is hijacked by arrogant dickheads wanting to spread misery every single year. It's becoming boring. Just **** off to a cricket thread or something. How can you all be so joyless?

F-uck me - what is thread about ?
Glastonbury is a festival of different music for different tastes.
Music is one of the most individual things that exists - anybody who criticises another persons taste in music just because they might not like it themselves is frankly a bit mental.
The only exception to that rule is of course Sir David Bowie where anyone who does not like his music is of course equally mental !!
