Pope -9 - what an incredible full PL debut, several great saves and very assured
Lowton 8 - like all the other defenders, very assured
Mee - outstanding and so unfortunate not to score
Tarks - 10 - MOM - Simply outstanding today, so many big interventions
Ward - 8 - see Lowton
JBG - 7 - strong first half, but faded
Cork - 8 - what an amazing addition, outstanding again today
Arfield - 8 - took his goal very well and did so much to support Wood and cover defensively
Defour - 7 lots of covering but not as much holding and creativity as we needed
Brady - 7 - much better than last week and showed some strong defensive qualities
Wood -6 - isolated with little service
Barnes - 8 - good substitution by Dyche and good contribution from Barnes

Anyone else tired of hearing about Liverpool's 35 shots? I didn't even think about holding my breath on over half of them.

Barnes 8

Another outstanding defensive display.
Frustrated them again and, had them trying shots from range.
When Ash came on, it seemed to signal an effort to nick the three points....Ben was so close to doing it too!
Not many Clarets, me included, that would have had us down to being unbeaten away to Spurs, Chelski and 'Pool.

Another outstanding display, particularly defensively when we restricted Liverpool once more to shots from distance and just a few real chances.

Pope 8 - including one astonishing save
Lowton 8
Tarkowski 9 - just edges Mee for mom
Mee 9
Ward 8
Gudmundsson 7
Defour 8
Cork 7
Arfield 7
Brady 8
Wood 7

Barnes 7

Jack Cork is basically an anthropomorphised sentient domestic mop. Our most underrated player this season. Only time he was caught in possession was when Liverpool forced a 3-on-1 in the centre circle.

35 Liverpool shots is like saying that Pope took a shot from each goal kick!
Popes kicks got nearer

So many of their shots never had a chance, were from range, blasted into certain blocks etc pure frustration.
The Barca wannabe hit the second tier (twice?), Sturidngery so not a team player also, how many shots when he had better options.

Only saw it on TV but it was so clear this was a unified team performance.
Can't grade anyone lower than an 8.
CBs will win the vote
But the team gets a 10

SD gets 11 for Rock Footie

The Pope -9 - Super PL full debut.
Lowton 8 - Worked hard and never got pulled out of position
Mee - 9 Sir Benjamin was awesome today.
Tarka the Great - 9 - MOM Just superb today.
Ward - 8 - see Lowton
JBG - 6 Not much service but kept his shape.
Cork - 8 - Excellent battling display
Arfield - 8 - Worked hard and scored the goal with so much confidence.
Defour - 7 We needed a lot of hard graft today and he put a shift in. Perhaps could have held it up a little more.
Brady - 7 - Much improved from last week. Worked a nice shooting opportunity 2nd half.
Wood -6 - Isolated with little service put put a shift in.
Barnes - 8 - Normal service was resumed from our Ash.

Overall a very good, hard earned point which could have so easily been all three but for some excellent goal line clearances from the Scousers.

Great day out and the support was immense. It seems that the poorer (quieter) our home support becomes, the louder our away support becomes; very odd that.
Very pleased for Pope; we've no worries there.
We could have snatched a win with either of Mee's headers. Mind you, if he had scored then maybe the ref would have spotted the penalty that Mee committed at the end!

Pope 9
Lowton 8

Tarkowski 9

Low marks for Wood, by several posters, above clearly shows little understanding of how hard it was to be the 1 in a 451 away to Liverpool at Anfield when your midfield is in it's own half being dragged left right and centre as the only balls you get are coming at head height, and only 1 midfielder is anywhere near you,Arfield.
He won loads of flick ons and if he'd been playing in a team dominating Liverpool with a 442 or 433 set up this would have been more evident.
Arfield let 2 balls roll off his toes on the edge of the box from Wood 's flick ons, probably through the tiredness of his midfield role. A fellow forward may have made more of that.
He did some good tidy defensive work and gave only 1 ball away if my memory serves me right
His Goal got us a point at Wembley
His goal got us 3 points at Home to CP
He was part of the assist today, whether he touch the ball or not that got us 3 points at Anfield

Pope - 9 makes some saves in an unconventional way but that doesn't matter as long as he's saving them. Taking his chance very well so far and should only improve from here.

Lowton - 9 recovered from the club spelling his name wrong twice on Twitter before the game to put in the kind of committed, disciplined performance we've come to expect from him

Tarkowski - 10 one mis-kick aside he was phenomenal.

Mee - 10 very lucky not to give away what was a clear penalty at the end; very unlucky not to bag two goals at the other end.

Ward - 9 as good as his defensive peers

JBG - 7 dogged, determined, no real opportunities to be much more

Defour - 8 the other side of his game that plenty didn't realise he had last season was to the fore here.

Cork - 9 best midfielder on the pitch yesterday

Arfield - 8 a beautifully controlled finish for the goal, making it look much easier than it is to hit a ball like that. Aside from the goal, nobody knows what this team is about more than arfield and he fit perfectly into another different role.

Brady - 7 won the header for the goal brilliantly and stuck to the defensive side well

Wood - 6 never going to be getting high marks here and he was hardly in the game but thats just how it was going to be whoever was up front on their bill at anfield. Vokes would have been a better option to make it stick more but he's have had an equally difficult job.

Barnes - 6 helped us get up the pitch a bit more

I said before the game we'd get at least a point and so it proved. Defensively, throughout the team, we were as good as it gets and while much has been made of Liverpool's 30+ shots, there were very few clear chances. Of our 6 or 7 shots, 4 were on target which shows how good a performance this was.

We've got it sussed against the big clubs.

He only helped get us 1 point, but I get where you're coming from. He's certainly hit the ground running.

Hope he continues that next Saturday, as it's a biggie.

Lowton 8
Mee 8
Tarky 9
Ward 7
Defour 7
Cork 8
JBG 6
Brady 7
Arfield 8
Wood 7

Barnes 6
Westwood 6

Could have won it or lost, good chances on both sides, still not sure 4-4-2 is wise move in any away game, can see why we did it tho as we were camped in our own half for most of second half.

Right winger still a must for Jan with speed as an outlet

Pope 8 Takes lots of confidence from that performance.
Lowton 8
Tarkowski 9 Immense again. Anyone still think he wasn't already Keanes ready made replacement?
Mee 8
Ward 8
JBG 7
Cork 9 Awesome.
Defour 8 Defour looking after Coutinho and doing a pretty good job too. Didn't get to affect it 's much in possession but it was that kind of day.
Brady 7
Arfield 8 Well taken goal and looks better suited to this more central role.
Wood 6 Played his part in an awesome team performance but individually was no better than average.

Barnes 7 His presence was felt. Standard.

Quality team performance.

I think some on here need to take a second look at JBG, his scores are consistently low.
Make no mistake he is a very important part of the "FRAMEWORK". He has been given a dirty job and is performing it beautifully.
