Aye congratulations Vladimir Putin on winning the Russian election and all
Re: Congratulations to BRFC
Think the FA will have to look into their promotion as you are obviously suggesting the other teams were paid off or threatend to allow them to get promoted by the venkys.mickleoverclaret wrote:Aye congratulations Vladimir Putin on winning the Russian election and all
Did they pay for chicken suppers after every teams games.

Maybe I might, but the horse lovers and the vast multitudes of boycotting loyal fans wont.

Re: Congratulations to BRFC
I have passed on my congrats to a couple of mates who still watch them. It doesn’t really bother me in the slightest. I hope they enjoy their night.
Their record since October I’d imagine is the best in the football league and I’ve always liked Mowbray. Whatever we think of them he’s done a sterling job. While he’s had plentiful resources in League One terms, he’s had to overcome a terrible start and a poisonous fan vs club relationship, not exactly a one-club mentality down there is it? I have a feeling that the clubs going down from the Prem aren’t in Sunderland-style freefall and Rovers are heading for a long period of Preston-esque mediocrity at best and Bolton yo-yo business at worst.
With a bit of luck Mowbray might even go to West Brom.

in all seriousness a great year for professional football in East Lancashire. Is there any other areas with a similar population, that can boast 3 football league teams in the nations 3 top divisions? I would doubt there is.

They’ve done very well to hold off the challenge of Shrewsbury. By contrast we have been becalmed in 7th place in the Premier League. I am so pleased for them. Just shows that they can still win things by spending more than anyone else. I wish them good luck with that approach next year.

At least Rodwell has a relegation clause now, so his wage next season will apparantly drop from £70k to £40k per week

Tbh didn’t really bother me till I was in Asda at 6 am this morn.’Blackburn rovers we are on our way back ’ A gang of them was singing clearly after a all-nighter! They forget venkys are still there amazing how a league 1 promotion masks that fact up!

Agree with Ralph.RalphCoatesComb wrote:The Championship is going to be a tough league to get out of next year. They don't have the resources to mount a proper challenge!
When we went up under Sean Dyche the first time there had been some reasonable player investment, particularly under Howe.
Ings, Trippier, Mee et al were reasonably low fees at the time and Sean Dyche did a superb job of moulding them into a promotion winning team.
Now with the current insane transfer market, Venky's FC won't be able to compete with the big hitters in the championship unless they risk you know what.

Re: Congratulations to BRFC
Whether by luck or good judgement Mowbray was an excellent appointment. His achievements this season haven't gone unnoticed and Ipswich, where he was a very popular player, a rumoured to be keen on him.
With Mowbray in charge they should steer clear of trouble but if he goes and they make another poor appointment (as they have been known to do) then it will be hard work for them.

I see the OP is getting lots of support !!
Got to admit I'm definitely in the f-uck em camp.
I don`t go for this view that its good for our area for our teams to be doing well and a derby game would be good. I would be happy for them to drop so low in the leagues that I could go watch them on pitch 8 up Townley playing against The Crooked Billet.
