Ben Mee
I know they are only rumours but if Spurs have agreed a deal to take Ben at the end of the season it is fairly obvious to me that part of the agreement is that Ben does notplay again this season for us.
Similar really to Keano not playing for us at the end of last season.
Now if this is the case should we be paying a player to sit out the season on the pretext that he has an injury. We all know Ben would play with one leg in plaster to get a game.
Perhaps Spurs have agreed to pay his salary as part of the deal.
All pure speculation on my part but I do find it strange he is not playing.

Re: Ben Mee
Everton must have some clout. They stopped Keane playing for England as well. Or perhaps he was injured!

Re: Ben Mee
Just my opinion but could be some truth In this, in the game prior to injury, he played 90mins if I remember correctly, there didn't seem any obvious injury, and he hasn't played since, also hendrick looked ok monday night,it all seems a tad strange to me. I for one hope not.The Enclosure wrote:I know they are only rumours but if Spurs have agreed a deal to take Ben at the end of the season it is fairly obvious to me that part of the agreement is that Ben does notplay again this season for us.

Let's face it, if we don't win a cup or a Champions League place next season some will be calling for Dyche's head.Steve1956 wrote:The doom merchants are gathering D88FC, and this season hasn't even finished yet!

Let's face it, if we lose every game next season but "put in a good effort" people will be calling for Dyche's knighthood.martin_p wrote:Let's face it, if we don't win a cup or a Champions League place next season some will be calling for Dyche's head.

Re: Ben Mee
Where ARE all these rumours coming from or is it just the Burnley paranoia creating them. First off why can't Mee be injured without some joker deciding it's a blind to hide his departure? And if it's 'Dawson and Long' next season where is Tarks supposed to be off to? Just stop it and enjoy the ride guys. Does any other club in this country have such a cynical, doubting, we aren't worthy set of supporters than us? If it's not the 'we need to get to 40 points first' bunch whilst we are in the top 8 all season it's the 'we still need another point to stay above Everton' brigade despite the fact that Everton need a miracle of biblical proportions to catch us now. Okay Mee is leaving, so is Tarkowski, Heaton and Pope are going to play for Malta Hibernians, Defour is taking early retirement in a tax haven in the Bermuda triangle, Dyche is having talks with Stenhousemuir, and Turf Moor is being demolished to make way for the new Burnley International Airport. Now I'm going to pack my untold wealth into a dozen large suitcases and heading off to Mars for a holiday.
There, I think that's covered all bases so no need to post any more pointless 'rumours' or scaremongering.

Re: Ben Mee
The one certain thong is that Burnley will have a 100% team ready for next season's challenges.

Nice place I'm told, the Hellas Impact Basin. I thought I was booking a holiday to Greece but a massive meteor impact crater on Mars should make a nice change. I'm told there's not much atmosphere there though.Diesel wrote:Where abouts on Mars are you going?

Love it there, I watched the Charlton game, when we won the Championship, in the Rocket Sports bar in the Hellas Impact Basin, there were a load of extra terrestrial's from Pluto in there on a stag do.houseboy wrote: the Hellas Impact Basin.

Weird bunch. I personally have never wanted to do a stag, or anything else with 4 legs (well that's not strictly true, there were these twins a few years ago, but that's another story).Diesel wrote:Love it there, I watched the Charlton game, when we won the Championship, in the Rocket Sports bar in the Hellas Impact Basin, there were a load of extra terrestrial's from Pluto in there on a stag do.
