It must have been nice back then. Not any more unfortunately. I was there in about 2007 and whilst it's still nice there's a lot of rubbish around.

Lake Louise in the Rockies was pretty spectacular but if I'm being honest there are some great places in the UK. The Lake District and Snowdonia National parks are beautiful.

Woodtop beer garden on Accy Rd. Is there a more beautiful sight than a beaming sun over the top of Farmfoods glazing onto the beer garden ? I dont think so ?!

Tough question, so many beautiful places.
In this country I would have to say the Langdales in the Lake District.
But the place that really took my breath away was Rime and in particular the Forum and Collisseum.

Norway! 9 day trip Bergen up to Trondheim driving through the Fjords. Absolutely wonderful places en route.

Ireland - Coumshingaun lake in the Comeragh Mountains so isolated and so serene. Also the drive through The Connor Pass out of Dingle.

Paris would be my favourite City - once you get away from Gar Du Nord closely followed by Rome.

Cuba was fascinating but didn't see enough of it outside of a Wedding resort and a day trip to Havana.

Such a subjective thing isn't it? I lived in LA for four years and loathed the place.

I think my no 1 would be South India, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, but I know some would hate it there.

I also like Venice but dislike Rome, power masquerading as sanctity in the latter case.

And then you have to include the Cornish coast and Devon river valleys that make one love and long for England when you live abroad.

A few of mine....

Sunrise at the Taj Mahal.
Cliviger Gorge
Heading north on the 101 into San Francisco, you come round the freeway for your first view of the City, breathtaking.
Passing Whernside and through Deepdale heading to Dentdale, it's like driving off the edge of the world.
John Muir Woods in Northern CA.
Flying into Kai Tak in the 80's past the Forbidden City.
Mount Fuji views from the Hakone Shrine with the prayer gates.
Death Valley
Sisteron Citadel
The Acropolis

Have a few places that I want to get to, I should be out in Monument Valley later this year. Want to spend more time in South America, Santiago was an incredible City, but not great views. Rio and Machu Pinchu ( though maybe a little too touristy). Also some of the abandoned City's in Cambodia look incredible.

Surely you've heard of the Reeperbahn ? :) ;)

I was last in Hamburg in 85 and at a guess I would say quite a bit has changed since.
But what I believe hasn't changed is the warmness of the people and the place.
It was just a fantastic city for nightlife, shopping;the harbour area is a must.

What I fondly remember most is when we were in a bar chilling out before going to the Big Apple nightclub,we got chatting to some local chaps and when I informed them I was from Burnley that was it;
I never got to the nightclub that night but I didn't spend another pfennig.
2 of them had come over for the Hamburg game.

I'm led to believe the Big Apple nightclub is still going.

I went on a day trip to Santorini whilst on holiday in Crete. Without doubt one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I have ever been. Spent the day strolling around the narrow streets of the town and having a few Mythos beers in some fabulous tavernas. The view from the hilltop down to the harbour is something to behold. Wonderful piece of planet earth.

Just got back from three brilliant days with friends in Hamburg. What a friendly and lively city. Never been before but some great bars just off the Reeperbahn and in Sternschanze. The harbour also good, plenty of ships passing while enjoying Astra beer. Weather 33 degrees too. Missing it already. Love Germany.

Best place I've stayed has to be the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro. The main hotel in Rio. Marble flooring, everything on tap. I asked for an ironing board, as my shirts were creased to hell... tap on the door literally 2 minutes later. Amazing. I think my room bill came to about £500 and all I did was have a few mars bars and bottles of water.

And the place itself is amazing. Christ the Redeemer is a landmark where I had to queue to get a photo, and that's all day every day.

The downside? The flight. You have to be there for 3 weeks to make it worth the journey over there.

Climbing up El Castillo at Chichen Itza (Back when you could), Climbing to the top of The Basilica at The Vatican, the eeriness of The Coliseum.
The house where Bob Marley was born, not the Kingstown commercial site. Went in 98 and hired a taxi for a day who took us on a rural trip of his beloved Jamaica.
Whale watching in the Dominican in January. The female whales venture to warmer climes to have their babies.
Blue Mountains in Australia where my wife took some lovely pictures of The 3 Sisters, as she was one of 3 sisters, unfortunately she lost the youngest 8 years ago at only 35 due to cancer.
We live in a beautiful world, which I fear is being less appreciated as we progress...

My favourite walk ever was the funicular, now replaced by cable car, up from Lauterbrunnen. Then a flat walk along to Murren, with the Eiger, Monsch and Jungfrau all across the valley.
At Murren you can take a cablecar up to the James Bond revolving restaurant. Then descend from Murren back to the valley floor and back to the car with the sound of waterfalls and cowbells to accompany you. Bliss.
Been there many times. On a winter's morning walking through the village I imagined Hanzel & Gretal appearing from around a corner holding hands.
A beautiful fairytale place.

Seen a lot of awe inspiring places but the one that always sticks in my mind just for being in the moment was in Ibiza.

Got a Catamaran and made sure we were the furthest boat out and had a clear view of the sunset - sat on the front with a bucket of beers and a jug of sangria with some chilled out beats watching the sunset and hearing the faint cheers from the distant beach behind us - perfection!

Some great suggestions- inspired to see Cornwall as an adult, when back in England. Top 5 for me:
Torres del Paine, Chilean Patagonia.
Cusco, Peru.
Rio, Brazil
Queenstown, New Zealand.
Pacific North West, USA.

If I thought any of the exotic places I'd visited around the world were so amazing, and had so much more to offer than what you can find around the UK, then I'd go and live there.
