Harry Thomson sadly passed away from cancer a few years ago.

Didn't think it was as long as it was but it's over five years since Harry passed away.

They once did a feature on this game in our club programme and referred to him as a cod in a green jersey.

I hope someone will market a green t shirt with Harry Thompson’s face and ‘God in a green jersey’ in Italian. I’d buy one.

Unless my memory is deceiving me I recall Harry making a penalty save at Blackpool in front of thousands of Burnley fans on the Kop the game after the Naples penalty save.

He certainly did, from Ray Charnley. It was close to the end of the game and I missed it because the bloke who took me wanted to beat the traffic. It was Les Latcham who couldn’t play because of the head injury.

I think it was Ray Charnley who he saved from. Colin Blant with two as I recall ;)

I think he faced about 10 or 12 penalties before one was scored. One or two were missed but most were saved.
