Barcelona Stadiun tour

Post by Lancasterclaret » Thu Jun 14, 2018 9:19 pm

In Barcelona for a day over the summer, any one got any experiences of the best way to do the tour of the ground?

Me and my mates went in July 2013 and from what I recall we just turned up at the ground unplanned and they run fairly regularly. It was a good experience and provided a very detailed history of the club. I never realised how involved the club had been in Catalan independence movements throughout it's history. In a sense it's like a much bigger and intense version of what Burnley is to the town and fundamentally the beating heart of the entire region which binds the inhabitants into a shared identity. Other points of note were that from the outside it's completely unremarkable, and for a brief moment I thought we were standing next to an old run down multi-story car park. Finally, when you get to the memorabilia section, they aren't kids boots, Messi's feet are actually that small!

As above we just found our way there on the metro and rocked up to the ground and there was no issues.

Obviously this is something you may specifically want to do but Ive been to Barcelona twice and the Nou Camp tour was about the least interesting thing I did as there is so much other great stuff to do in that city especially in the summer

The ticket office is across the carpark from the ground and then you enter by crossing the enclosed walkway.
Impressive but a bit grim and concrete under the stands. Pitch side it is very impressive.
Not a patch on the Bernabeu tour though but still worth half a day.

What SammyBoy said.

Not to be missed, albeit we did it years ago.

Getting to see the dressing rooms (away only as I recall), sitting on the bench and sitting in El Presidente's box (as it were) definite highlights. Also the clever photography that they use to produce a photo of you (in full Barca kit) celebrating scoring for them (ours included Patrick Kluivert, which gives you an idea of how long ago it was..... given his son is now playing for Roma!!!). Aaaargh!!!

Cheers DA but I've been Barcelona before and never done it, and I'll have the kids and they really want to go.

Bought tickets under the monument at the bottom of the ramblers, Columbus statue possibly, metro to ground.

The interactive section is great, you can select any goal from the past to watch. I chose some of linekers and stoichkovs.

Having my foto taken in my burnley shirt, holding the European Cup feels more like a premonition now.

Ground Tour is ok - over rated in my opinion as the ground is tatty in places and needs a coat of paint. All roads lead to the club shop and the photographers. Should have spent some of the millions they lavished on the shop renovating the ground.
