Shaqiri

Post by IndigoLake » Sat Jul 14, 2018 7:25 am

Surprised there isn't a post about this already but Liverpool have signed Shaqiri after triggering his £13m release clause. I know there were a few on here hoping that we could entice him to Turf Moor. Not to be!

Great news, the last thing we need when we rely so much on each other is a trouble making coaster like him.

Whether we need him or not, we were never going to be able to sign him, and apart from the posters on this board there has never been a suggestion that we were going to try. Why haven't we discussed the merits of signing Renoldo, it has just as much credibility

Cos he's not as good as Ronaldo

Interesting signing - he must be back-up for Salah, Surprised if he's a starter

Us, I'd rather play than sit on the bench.

I would have loved to see him at Burnley. If we progress in Europe, we are going to need a bigger squad than we have now, with much more quality. Whatever his supposed faults are, he has class and great technique.

Exactly the sort of player Liverpool need for their pressing game!?

He played under Guardiola for 2 years, so he's used to it

Do you really honestly feel you missed the chance to sign shaquiri?

An ego like that won't be happy not being 1st choice. Potential dressing room nightmare

We’d have had more chance, than your lot would’ve had of signing Ronaldinho

I'm not disrespecting Burnley.. Stoke are a similarly sized club.. Its the pay issue I'm meaning.

Comes across to me as a bit of a pressure signing - a signing they wouldn't have done had they waited a bit longer. He'd improve us, but not sure he'll improve Liverpool.

Not a strange signing really. Can make a difference and he’s purely a squad player. Would never have come here - wages.
