That could be a cracking deal for both parties, hope it works out for him. Still think we'd have stayed up but for his injury.

Just been reading that the Villa fans are up in arms about him signing for them due to his age. Wonder if any of them actually realise he's a good player who many of us would have had for an additional year. I hope he signs for someone else and scores against them, but knowing Deano any shots would probably end up in the stand

A tremendous player and pro for us but you can understand the Villa fans' unease at losing Grealish and others and them being replaced by the likes of Marney.

The stats don't lie and he's a 34 years old with 55 appearances over the past 4 seasons. If we were linked with a player with those stats I'd be slightly concerned. The only thing in Villa's favour is he'll come cheap because of those stats - maybe even a pay as you play deal?

He's on about the season we were relegated when we refused to sign cover for Jones and Marney then Marney got injured not long after.

If he regains full fitness he will be a good signing at that level,i wouldn't imagine his wages would be excessive,as at this stage of his career he will want to play regular games, the same Villa fans were bemoaning the signing of Glenn Whelan last Summer,he proved to be a major factor in their campaign that took them all the way to the play-off final.

Who do they think they are? No club has a divine right to be in the top tier. They flirted with relegation for several seasons, overspent and are now paying the price. THEY are not worthy of Dean Marney.
