Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Imagine spunking £100 million on Sigurdsson and Richarlison when you could have bought Ronaldo for the same price.

Gutted didnt get to see him or zlatan at the turf. As much as i couldnt give a **** about any other english clubs, to have seen zlatan or ronaldo on the turf would have been unbelievable.Dyched wrote:It’s funny how he ****** off abroad after our first promotion.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Deal was a bit strange, was it just Juve who were interested?
Seemed to go through very quickly without anyone else getting involved.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Interesting that a club which is otherwise pretty modestly run, in the grand scheme of things, would pay 100m and then 500k a week.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Deal was a bit strange, was it just Juve who were interested?

They must have something significant coming in externally, and I don't just mean from Fiat.

Not sure on their finances, I just find it strange that one of the best players in the world, despite his age, became available and there wasn’t more interest.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
He would never play for another English or Spanish club. Which pretty much left Italy, Germany, France or The Far East. The only other club Sporting are in dissaray.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Not sure on their finances, I just find it strange that one of the best players in the world, despite his age, became available and there wasn’t more interest.
Surprised PSG didnt make more of a move. But Juve are a much bigger club anyway. In a better more competetive league. Juve are one of the biggest clubs in the world. And also perhaps Zidane recommended them? Maybe even he will end up there too?
Either way I reckon Juve had it wrapped up before anyone else knew he was available.

It's not a matter of fact of jealousy, is just that juventus is the figure of the all devils thing of football...even us in 2010 we had a great team of players and MEN....not a single superstar...bfccrazy wrote:Jealousy gets you nowhere.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronald is too inconsistent, look at the likes of Gudmundson and Boyd, a lot more consistent than Ronaldo who has 1 good game in 5.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo never scored at Turf Moor. JBG and Boyd have - I don’t think I need to say any more on their credentials.ClaretAndJew wrote:Ronald is too inconsistent, look at the likes of Gudmundson and Boyd, a lot more consistent than Ronaldo who has 1 good game in 5.
Ronaldo can’t even get into the Iceland team before JBG and there are only 74 people that live in Iceland.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
The feeling I got from the World Cup was Ronaldo wants to be the best player ever, in the sense when people look back on his career it would be hard to argue.
A few times it was mentioned how it was Ronaldo and Messi's (he has to be mentioned) last World Cup, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ronaldo has 2 more left in him. A 41/42 yo Ronaldo will still be one of Portugal's best players.
He will also be able to say he did it in Portugal, England, Spain, Italy and if I'm right about the long career there may be another league or 2 to add to that.
He's a dedicated lad, I'll give him that.

These were my thoughts when I found out he went to Juve.
Title at Juve - move to Germany and get a title there and then possibly France or a payday in USA at 40ish
Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Yeah. Although I'm fairly certain he wouldn't go to the USA for a pay day, I can't imagine he'll ever be able to run out of money now.bfccrazy wrote:These were my thoughts when I found out he went to Juve.

He may end up going to one of the current big money leagues, like China, especially if one of them does actually take off as a successful league just so he can say he did it.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
I genuinely thought that was a female in the OP.
Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Juve apparently sold over £60m worth of Ronaldo/Juve shirts in the first 24 hours
Juve sold 850,000 shirts in 2016
Shirts with Ronaldo on the back sold 520,000 in 24 hours
So adidas are the real winners in all of this
