Hart 7 Did all he could
Barsdsley 5 Poor slow and gave away the ball time after time.
Mee 6 OK struggles when one on one
Tarkwoski 5 Too many hollywood balls going amiss turned a couple of times in dangerous places.
Taylor 5 Poor positioning
Cork 5 Offered little Looks off the pace
Hendrick 5 Gave the ball away so many times and broke nothing up
JBG 5 Lightweight and offered very little bar the first 20 minutes he supplemented our back line
Lennon 4 You can not defend that he was too narrow
Vokes 5 Nothing stuck and looked sluggish
Barnes 5 Once again looked sluggish and hardly chased

Vydra 6 Moments of something technical

Overall a sluggish slow predictable and most comfortable 1-0 I have seen, I do know teams can sit off us because how are we going to hurt them.

Heaton 9 Without him it could have been 6 or 7. We were very lucky to get none !
Bardsley 3 How bad must Lowton be playing
Tarks 5 Looked shattered as did the whole team
Mee 5 as Tarks
Taylor 3 Championship quality
JBG 4 off the pace
Cork 5 best of a shocking midfield
Hendrick 4 Championship standard
Lennon 3 First touch was after 17 mins. We were effectively playing with 10 men. He had no clue what he was supposed to do
Vokes 5 won a few headers
Barnes 3 Dont know where his passion has gone. Doesnt even foul now.

Vydra 6 looked brighter than most
Westwood n/a
Wood 4 Didnt look interested before and during the game

SD It looks like the team are not playing for him. I hope thats not the case. But his tactics are beginning to look naive at best. West Ham just scored as I write this.

Chairman and Board. How can they sleep at night. The recruitment in summer was non existent and we are left with a team of mainly Championship player who are looking out of their depth. The buck has to stop with the Chairman. What a huge wasted opportunity.

Hart. 8. Mom. Kept us in the game
Bardsley. 3. Woeful.
Mee. 6. Did quite well.
Tarks 6. See Mee.
Taylor. 3. A tough afternoon
JBG. 6. Our only attacking threat.
Hendrick. 6. Thought he did okay
Cork. 5. Below his best.
Lennon. 3. This season I say he flatters to deceive. Today didn't even flatter.
Vokes. 4. Nothing
Barnes.4. See Vokes
Vydra. 6. Looked lively

1 shot on target, bullied off the ball, caught in possession, 4 yellow cards. Grim.

Hart 9 - pulled of a number of point blank saves to keep us in it
Bardsley 5 - stupidly booked early doors when caught out of position. Did ok but nothing go8ng forward at all which is crucial to our forward game
Takowski 6 - caught out a bit for the goal and a bit shaky at tines but getting back to that player that earned an England cap
Mee 6 - still not the same player as last season but getting back there
Taylor 5 - worryingly exposed today
Lennon 5 - struggled but not really helped out much
Cork 5 - needs resting
Hendrick 6 - strongest of our midfield but still prone to odd errors
Gudmunsson 5 - rushed back but not offering anything at the moment
Barnes 4 - awful
Vokes 5 - marginally better

Vydra 6 - actually created a few problems for Wolves for 10 minutes
Wood 6 - by the time he came on the rest of the side had given up on any points at all.

Woeful. The midfield is so poor and we dont have any options to shake it up. Barnes and Vokes werent grest by any stretch but we are creating nothing for them.

Hart 9
Bardsley 4 should have walked
Taylor 3 one win in 16 with this guy. Nowhere near Wardy in class. Can’t track runners and doesn’t get tight enough. A full back needs to be a good defender first and this guy isn’t one..
Tarky 7 only the odd mistake and a couple of good blocks
Mee 6 average
JBG 6 average. Not helped by TAylor
Lennon 3. Awful. Did nothing
Cork 6 average
Hendrick 5 poor game
Vokes 6
Barnes 5

Vydra 8

Hart 9 - Kept us in it first half and then kept the scoreline respectable.
Bardsley 3- Because it's the lowest you can give. Really just looked totally off it. Awful distribution, invited pressure and should have been sent off. Please get Lowton in for Bournemouth.
Taylor 4- Looked shaky and nervous on the ball. Struggled with Costa and then got the run around from Traore.
Mee 5
Tarkowski 7- looked solid on the whole and some good clearances in the box. Think he was let down by Bardsley a little too which exposed that right hand side a little more.
Lennon 4 - Offered nothing of note whatsoever.
JBG 5 - Tracked back but offered nothing going forward.
Cork 4 - Looked weak on the ball but he was playing against 2 Portugese international CMs in a team that made no attempt to retain possession or offer anything going forward.
Hendrick 6 - think he was the better of the midfield two. Showed some glimspes of what he can do but needs to be playing here more.
Barnes 4 - Big Ash fan but he was rank today. Off the pace and never looked like causing any problems to their defence.
Vokes 5 - Huffed and puffed but no service.

Vydra 5 -
Wood 5 -
Westwood 4 -

Just completely uninspiring really. Looked like it could have been a cricket score the amount of times Wolves broke through us. It's early days still but if this carries on for long we'll be in serious trouble. The next 3 games look absolutely massive now.

Hart 8 kept it respectable.... AGAIN
Bardsley 4 a really poor footballer. Did nothing other than put us under pressure.
Taylor 4
Mee 4
Tarkowski 5 his long passing was shocking
Lennon 4 offered nothing
JBG 4 as above
Cork 5 looked the better of the 2
Hendrick 4 lost the ball quite a bit, nothing of note going forward or back. Just ran about and passed it 10 yards
Barnes 4 lost every battle with Boly
Vokes 4 a couple of flick one and that was it

Vydra 5 looked bright, our best, only chance came from his skill of keeping it down and across goal
Wood 4 didn't do much, but didn't really get the service.

It really, really was an appauling spectacle from a Burnley point of view.
It looked like a league 1 side playing a premier league one.
We did nothing right for 90 minutes, and it really should have been 4 or 5.
Wolves created more "golden chances" today than we have all season.. 30 efforts at goal is 1 every 3 minutes.
I'd like to say we had a spell of pressure, blame the ref, or say we were unlucky.
All I can say is that was really, really sh1t.

Our failure to strengthen the starting 11 in 2 transfer windows is showing week after week.

Hart 9: Didn’t want to sign him, didn’t rate him, he was great today after a similarly decent display against United (where I thought he did make a couple of errors). Growing on me and the only bloke to play to the level I expect.

Bardsley 3: The most strange of all decisions was seeing Bardsley starting ahead of Lowton. At 33 he is a million miles away from a regular Premier League player these days. His early booking was standard Phil, leaving him on the edge all game and almost going for an early bath for yet another cynical pull back 2nd half. I’m also sick of his ludicrous 30 yard shots where he seems to think he is a combination of Rivaldo and Totti, not a right back. Sorry but he should never start a game for us again in this league. He’s finished at this level.

Tarky 4: Lets runners get behind him with alarming ease compared to the Goliath he was at times last season, won little in the air.

Mee 5: Better today than he has been this season but we still looked alarmingly fragile at the back.

Taylor 3: Not a fab, looks slow, ponderous, offers nothing going forwards and seems weak in the tackle. Leeds has our pants down on this one, will not be good enough for this level. Would prefer an ageing Ward any day of the week.

Lennon 3: Frequently forgot he was playing. He is offering less than nothing at the moment and is coasting through games. Sorry to say, does not look up for it at all. Has this fabled pace been lost or does he just not have the belief to use it anymore?

Cork 4: At times you see the player he was last season, at others he appears slower than he used to and gets caught in possession/has to resort to pull backs as runners get by him. Poor.

Hendrick 6: Pick of outfield for me, better in his regular position. Got caught in possession a couple of times but at least showed ability on the ball and TRIED to look forwards.

Gudmundsson 4: Another who is a million miles away from last season. Offering very little at the moment and made some stupid decisions on the ball that left us exposed. Has the quality but just isn’t showing it.

Barnes 3: Joke performance, didn’t even offer the bare minimum I expect from Barnes which is winning non free kicks and throwing himself about. Didn’t look arsed at all, really disappointed to write that about a player who I had taken to my heart like we all had.

Vokes 4: Tried today but won very little against Boly in the air and struggled to hold the ball up. Offers us more than Barnes and Wood at the moment.

Subs:

Vydra 6: At least went close with an effort - for the fact alone that he is willing to shoot I’d start him against Bournemouth.

Wood 3: Useless touch on the ball as per and offers less than Vokes.

Hart 9 MOM by a country mile
Bardsley 4 a red card waiting to happen
Taylor 3 . Offered nothing going forwards and given a torrid time defending
Tarks 6 average but way better than his full backs
Mee 6 as above
Cork 4 poor in possession and worse without the ball
Hendrick 4 caught in possession, gave the ball away, created nothing.
Lennon 3 offers nothing. Can't beat a man, can't keep the ball. Needs to go
JBG 5 better than Lennon. Which it not saying much.
Vokes 5 won a couple of headers. Zero service
Barnes 4 totally bossed by their centre half Bolly

Vydra 4 looked lost
Wood 4 No service
Westwood 4 is he the best we can do when chasing a game?

Worryingly poor in all areas apart from in goal. More worrying is that we don't look like we can get out of this malaise. The **** poor transfer windows are now coming home to roost. Just hope there are 2 other sides as well as Cardiff that are worse than us or we can be waving goodbye to Premier League football come May.

Hart 8- seeing more leather than a 1980s discotheque.
Bardsley 4- tries but lacking overall quality and nearly cost us with mistakes particularly early second half.
Mee 6- looked more composed than of recent however caught ball watching at times.
Tarkowski 7- couple of blocks and again improved defensively. Didn't use the ball intelligently at times though.
Taylor 3- played round, ran off, looked dodgy when in possession defensively and also at times looked lazy in getting back.
Hendrick 5- ok at times but not in game anywhere near enough.
Cork 6- energetic but ball is like an hot potatoe when we have possession.
Lennon 3- anonymous
Gudmondson 6- best parts of game today was playing left back due to Taylor's inadequacies. Wasted ball in attacking areas but at least he got involved.
Vokes 5- held the ball up a couple of times but isolated and fed on long balls to much.
Barnes 4- like Vokes but not involved as much as usual.
Vydra 6- more involved than any of attacking players. Came short and didn't have many options going forward.

Hart 9
Bardsley 4
Tarks 6
Mee 6
Taylor 4

Lennon 3
Gudmundsson 4
Hendrick 4
Cork 5

Barnes 5
Vokes 4

Vydra 7
Wood 4

Shockingly poor performance.
Only pluses were Hart's keeping and Vydra looked at least like he had a decent game in him.
Good job Wolves don't have anything like someone prolific in front of goal, or the scoreline would have been as embarrassing as the way we played.
It's very worrying.
Not losing, just the way we are doing it.

Hart 8*
Bardsley 3
Taylor 4
Mee 5
Tarkowski 6
Lennon 3
Hendrick 5
Cork 5
Gudmundsson 6
Vokes 5
Barnes 4

Vydra 6

My word that was poor. Incredibly concerning that we have had an international break and have come back even worse. I had high hopes for Taylor but that would appear to have been misplaced and with Bardsley showing his limitations its no wonder we were exposed by a dynamic, pacy team working the flanks. Mee and Tarky tried but they now look like a poor CH pairing and their value must be plumetting? However we simply do not look like scoring and that has been the case for far too long. Going to have to get used to Burnleynil!! SD sounding like he does not know how to get us out of this malaise, which is worrying as the players certainly seem to have no idea and the poor body language and lack ofconfidence is there for all to see!

Hart 10 - can’t fault him, on or off the pitch.
Bardsley 4 - tenacious but cost us a few times
Taylor 3 - ripped apart many times and was ball watching at least twice for their hare em scare em sequence before half time
Mee 6 - got some solid headers and blocks in
Tarkowski 6 - same as Mee
Hendrick 5 - it was often 4 vs 2 in midfield because our full backs sat back and invited Wolves on
Cork 5 - same as Hendrick
Gudmundsson 6 - a few blind alleyways
Lennon 6 - energetic and a couple of good crosses. Posters saying he was lazy are frankly deluded
Barnes 4 - owned
Vokes 4 - even more owned

Vydra 5 - got involved a touch more but his mates got worse so he was isolated

Sadly it was 2 hours of my life wasted, but while it was bad we did at least show some effort. Some posters are being too harsh. It was more like we were a dog chasing a crisp packet on a windy day. No skill in the press at all.

I have some sympathy with the players. At least now this silly tiredness excuse in August or September has gone.

The problem is that Dyche has been totally outclassed by Europe, he has found his glass ceiling and has been found wanting. I sincerely hope he evolves through it. He has relied totally on his framework against an energetic Premier League style, which has depended on consistency and intimate teammate knowledge (angles etc). He has tried to juggle things but in doing so has sacrificed Europe and cost us our Premier League consistent framework. The players now look like strangers - which of course they are. Today another XI that have never played together before.

The odd thing is he has left players out in Europe for freshness (seemingly) but then continued to leave them out afterwards, with no indication they are injured. Ward had a foot injury, but is meant to be fit again. Lowton had a minor thing, again I thought he was fit. Very, very odd those two. Surely he isn’t leaving them out to pretend it wasn’t a reserve side in Europe at all? My cynicism is starting to soar.

Back to basics please Sean. First choice defence.

Hart 9 thank god for Joe Hart
Bardsley 4 distribution was even worse than the rating
Taylor 5 some good a bit more bad
Mee 6 defended well but alongside the other 10 outfield players shocking in possession
Tarks 6 some excellent defensive contributions but like above another poor on the ball alongside one or two lapses
Lennon 4 apart from a little defensive help nothing positive
JBG 4 see Lennon, tried to be a bit more proactive than Lennon but also gave ball away in a couple of crucial areas
Hendrick 4 part of a whole team who’s ability on the ball today was atrocious
Cork 4 see jeff
Vokes 5 won a few flicks and was our only outlet for much of the game
Barnes 3 because I can’t give lower. We played with ten men for an hour because he offered nothing. If he doesn’t work hard and act thuggish he offers zilch to the team. His attacking movement and lack of proactive thinking shone today.

Vydra 6 a little more spark and energy
Wood 5

Hart - 8 (best performance in a Claret shirt).

Bardsley - 7 (Solid mainly but a fading talent at this level)
Taylor - 5 (Caught out a few times today)
Tarkowski - 6 (Some good blocks but wasteful in possession)
Mee - 6 (Solid but too slow at this level)

Lennon - 4 (I'm not sure what he offers)
JBG - 6 (Our best outlet but needs help desperately)
Hendrick - 5 (Better than in the 10 but never threatened today)
Cork - 6 (Worked hard but overrun)

Vokes - 8 MOM (Held up the ball really well but desperately lacked support)
Barnes - 5 (unusually quiet)

Vydra - 7 (Looked really promising)
Wood - N/A. (Offered little)
Westwood - N/A. (Not on long enough).

I'm not sure what game you lot were watching but I thought Vokes was a massive improvement on Wood. He had no service but when it got up to him (particularly first half) he held it up fantastically well...

Hart - 8* (Prevented a humiliation)
Bardsley - 5 (Nearly a horror pass)
Mee - 5
Tarkowski - 5
Taylor -- 4 (Not convinced, but there's still time)
Lennon - 3 (The Invisible Man today)
Hendrick - 4
Cork - 4
Gudmundsson - 4 (At least got on the ball but no quality)
Barnes - 5
Vokes - 5 (Hard to judge strikers today because there was very little service)

Vydra - 6 (Looks like he could add something)

Really poor performance, a little better defensively but still nowhere close to what we once were. Going forwards we are painful to watch, complete lack of conviction. Ultimately the midfield need to keep the ball and bring it forwards, we just seem to knock it back to Mee before hoofing it up and losing possession. Morale looks low :(

Hart 7
Bardsley 3 - would award minus points if I could. Absolutely wretched performance. After the battering we took in the first half we needed to stem the tide. He played them in for a one on one in the first 30 seconds of the second half. He’s millions of miles short of the required standard. Should have been sent off. Total liability.
Tarkowski 7 - with Hart, our only current consistent Premier League standard player.
Mee 6 - if we’re having him as our key distributor we may as well give up. Defended fine though.
Taylor 5 - had far more to deal with down his side in Costa, Doherty and Traore. Granted, he was ripped to shreds but stuck at it.
Lennon 3
Cork 4
Hendrick 4
Gudmundsson 4
Vokes 4
Barnes 4

Vydra 6

We could start by playing our best side if we’re going to go back to basics. What’s Bardsley doing in there? He’s a shambles. We’ve no identity, no tactics, no passion and no clue. A potent mix, and not a good one.

Hart 8
Bardsley 5 we need a wing back - it's not him
Taylor 5 slow slow slow
Tarkowski 7 some great clearances amongst some naive defending
Mee 6
Lennon - didn't touch the ball enough to justify a mark
Gudmundsson 5
Hendrick 5
Cork 5
Barnes 5
Vokes 6

Hart- 9 Kept us in the game, lost mark for some wayward distribution
Bardsley- 3 Past it - pity Dyche can`t see it
Tarky- 5 Looked lethergic, didn`t look England class
Mee - 5 Got dragged about but stuck at it
Taylor-4 Had a hard time today, some good tackles but poor positional awareness
Lennon-3 Oblivious, was the wage stealer actually on the pitch, better players at Lg 2 level, if McNeill can`t do better than him !!!!
Hendrick- 3 As weak a midfield performance from a pemier league claret as I have ever seen , by the way the others were by him. Dross
Cork- 4 Overun no midfield partner and no wide option
JBG- 5 Tried but not his best day at the office
Vokes- 5, no service
Barnes-4 No success against their big men but got, poor service

Wood- 4 Huffed and Puffed
Vydra- 6 At least we looked a bit livelier when he came on. needs Defour or some quality midfielder to provide for him.

Dyche 3 for picking the most inept team to play in his tenure. He let better players leave, ie Arfield , Marney than what he played today, if he thinks Lennon, Bardsley, Hendrick are up to it then championship here we come. Dyche fit my arse we were slow lethargic and easily knocked off the ball, if when injured players return if there is no upturn then maybe we might need to look at a different set of eyes picking the team as I feel if we exit the premier this year we won`t get the quick return we got last time

Poor. You stand a better chance of winning games playing your best possible 11. Back to the drawing board.

Absolutely rank bad awful which is sadly becoming the norm.

Hart 8. Has a shower in front of him. Well played.
Bardsley 4 would be get in any other bottom end PL team ? No.
Tarkowski 6
Mee 6
Taylor 4 not good enough at all.
JBG 5
Hendrick 5
Cork 5
Lennon 3 p*ss poor. Please play anyone here instead.
Barnes 4
Vokes 3

Dreadful and nothing to be optimistic about here. Relegation fodder. I suspect the reactive and at their limit board will put up with this durge until May.i dont mind Championship football but what a waste.

Bloody awful performance. The score line flatters us and proves how much we punched above our weight last season. Wolves should have had 6.
Our midfield must be the worse in the history of the Premier league, and per usual we created **** all. We played the correct system with the players at our disposal, the problem is though the players are not good enough.

Let me add that Wolves were superb and deserved everything today. If they had a striker they would be lethal.

We only started to play when they went in front and there were glimpses but nearly everytime we got the ball, we gave it away again.

Hart 8 - Some good saves, our only positive from today
Bardsley 4 - Ok as backup but if he's now our 1st choice RB we're in trouble.
Tarks -6 ok
Mee- 6 ok
Taylor 3 - Really wanted him to do well and be a natural successor to Wardy but just doesn't look PL class at the moment
Lennon 4 Disappointing again
Cork 5 Looks a shadow of the player from last season
Hendrick -6 ok
JBG - 5 - Tried but fought a losing battle
Vokes -4 Offered nothing today
Barnes 4 As Vokes

Wood 3 ; What can he do with no service though?
Vydra 6 Deserves a start
Westwood 4 - On a hiding to nothing when he came on
