No one can justify that performance today; after 2 wins we should have been buzzing with confidence and had a decent go at them at least one time in the match. The main man has to take responsibility for that performance; clearly, set us up to soak it up, play hoofball, miss the midfield men and snatch a win rather than merit one; poor, very poor from our leader and after 3 years in The Prem we should expect more from him.
Something clearly not right in the camp; we never change a winning team, Vydra should have started. The players played like they couldn't be that arsed and were just happy to get through the game hoping to take something.

Hart 8 did everything very well on the whole.
the rest 5 except Vokes & JBG who get a 6 for the goal.
-Ben Mee, what the hell has happened; looks slow and lost, and although distribution has never been his strong point it has hit an all time low this year
-Taylor looks average; not a bad player but no real strengths and again looked very hesitant at times today defensively
-Lennon playing out of position, feel sorry for him; looks lost
-Lowton looks very lethargic; looks like he is going through the motions and got no real appetite in his game this year.
-Centre midfield must have neckache. When we didnt win away 2 seasons ago we played 2 in midfield and could never keep the ball enough; eventually, the pressure told and we conceded, like today.
-Front 2 cant blame them, could hold it up better at times but pretty tough when there's little support around them, and also when we get a crap ref who gave some petty fouls against us at times today.

Hart 6
Lowton 5 poor
Mee 5 as above
Tarks 4 how many miss placed passes today, mix up leading to the goal also between 2 or 3 of them
Taylor 6 ok
Lennon 4 poor, did nothing offensively
Westwood 4 usual decent standards dropped
Cork 4 another nothing game from him, I make it 3 or 4 this season
JBG 7 tried, looked the only 1 possible of creating something
Vokes 6
Barnes 4 poor, rightly hiokef

Wood 4 did nothing

Dyche 3 - please at least make it look like we have a plan. What is going on, on the training pitch, we look incapable of producing half a dozen passes together. The amount of miss placed passes or long whooshes out of play were mind boggling.

We have been played off the park today for 98 minutes off Huddersfield Town. Sort it out Dyche it's nothing short of abysmal and sh1t to watch!

Dyche 1 - absolutely turgid team and tactics. Can’t wait for his post match interview something along the lines of:

‘People forget that there’s another team out there trying to win. Huddersfield are without a win this season and played like they wanted one.’

Hart 7

Lowton 5
Tarks 6 Some great blocks. Some woeful passing.
Mee 4. Not sure where Ben is, at the mo.
Taylor 5

Gudmundsson 7 *
Cork 4
Westwood 5
Lennon 5

Barnes 4
Vokes 6

In the end, a very welcome though, hardly deserved point.
Shouldn't be saying that at home to a side that rarely scores and hardly ever wins.
Said on the match thread, that really was another poor, and very worrying show today.
There's a lot needs fixing at the moment.

Disappointing to see Vydra dropped, first half acceptable but once ahead we only had interest in containing, 30 per cent possession at home to Huddersfield is mind boggling. Worst we’ve season at home for quite some time.
Hart 7
Lowton 6
Tarkowski 8* kept us in the game today
Mee 4 defended well at times but against a better team we’d have been 2-0 at half time due to his **** poor passing.

Well we are rapidly approaching Cottrillesque levels for entertainment value. It really is dreadful to watch for the most point this season. I still don't get the insistence on 89th minute substitutes that rarely if ever work. When we are under the cosh we never react to affect the game, we only react once we've conceded. If there are indeed to be 3 teams worse than us this season (on form shown so far) we will be very very lucky!

Hart 7
Lowton 3 A vain attempt on halfway to get himself sent off in injury time when already on a booking
Mee 4 consistently very poor
Tarks 7
Taylor 5
Lennon 3
Westwood 3
Cork 4
JBG 7
Vokes 6
Barnes 3

Wood 3

What's our win percentage with the Cork /Westwood axis in midfield?

There is trouble in the camp somewhere. The unity that has held us together appears gone.
Whether they are bored listening to SD or fed up running around like blue arsed flies will come out eventually but come January it needs sorting.
From tv.

Hart 7
Lowton 4
Tarks 7
Mee 5
Taylor 4. He really can’t make a decision and as he dithers he gets closed down. The PL have sussed him.
JBG 7*
Westwood 5
Cork 4

Barnes 4
Vokes 6

Wood 4
Hendrick 5
Vydra not on long enough.

Hart 7
Lowton 5
Tarkowski 6 a bit sloppy but some good play
Mee 5
Taylor 4 not a PL left back. Looks the weak link and will be exploited by better teams.
Lennon 5 no threat at all
Westwood 5
Cork 4 rotten game losing possession and very lightweight
JBG 7
Barnes 5
Vokes 7 could have done better with one attempt but won plenty of headers

Subs

Wood 4 I said he'd make no impact when he came on. He didn't. I'd have subbed him after he came on.

"Wood 4 - I said he'd make no impact when he came on. He didn't. I'd have subbed him after he came on."

Said exactly the same, in the style of Dane Richards. He offered nothing more than Barnes had, which was nothing. Vydra must be wondering why he bothered coming here.

I am wordless at what I have just watched . Something is massively wrong at Turf Moor. Dont know if its the Board or the Manager or The Players or all 3 but something is big time not right. Where exactly was Defour today. What is Bradys minor setback. Why was Vydra dropped. Why is Wood utterly disinterested. Why is Ben Mee only 25% of the player he was. I could go on. Fulham have only won 1 game this season ! We have just been totally outplayed by Cardiff and Huddersfield who are both among the Favs to be relegated. Our next few games are tough. Wake up and smell the Coffee Sean.

Hart 6
Lowton 4 inc 1 for great cross which Vokes should have scored from.
Tarks 6 MOM Saved Mee with 2 great blocks
Mee 3 Obviously wanted away
Taylor 3 Championship player
JBG 4 played well for about 15 mins
Cork 3 looks exhausted
Westwood 3 Never a PL player in a million years
Lennon 3 Whatever he earns is too much
Vokes 5 Great header for goal but missed easier chance.
Barnes 3 Non existent

Wood 3 Pathetic again
Hendrick 3 non existent.

Dyche. Tactics are out of date

Hart - 6

Lowton - 6

Tarkowski - 8 immense

Mee - 4 what's going on?

Taylor - 6

Westwood - 5

Cork - 4 looks knackered, needs Defour

Lennon - 5

Gudmundsson - 6

Vokes-- 7 should have had 2 goals at least

Barnes - 4

Wood - 4

Decent enough first half but once we were ahead it was downhill from there. We could and probably should have put this game to bed before half time but we let a pretty poor Huddersfield team come on to us and gain themselves some confidence.

One to put behind us.

Hart 7 comfortable
Lowton 5 passing awful
Taylor 5 as above
Mee 5 as above
Tarkowski 7 defended well.
Cork 3 a shadow of last seasons player needs a spell on the sidelines.
Westwood 4 lightweight today.
Lennon 5 not at it but tracked back.
JBG 7 shining light in the team.
Barnes 3 totally ineffective today.
Vokes 6 good goal struggled with no service for rest of the game.

Woeful from start to finish. Not sure what has happened to some of these players but they need to pull their fingers out and quick. We struggled to string a pass together today. Tactically poor from Dyche as well today how was Vydra dropped for Barnes?

No disguising that that was a very poor day at the office, and (even if frustrations will probably colour perspective a bit this evening) the players and Dyche have to look at themselves a little after such a poor outing.

Hart - 5 - No saves to make, no chance with the goal, but consistently poor distribution - both the execution, and sometimes the thought processes - kept putting us under pressure needlessly, and I also thought he could have come and relieved the pressure in our own box once or twice.

Lowton - 5 - Neat enough in the first half, but increasingly untidy as the game went on.

Taylor - 4 - One or two tidy bits of footwork aside, he struggled badly today - both in defence, and also in attack (when more than once his crossing was found wanting. If Ward isn't currently an option for some reason, it wouldn't be a complete surprise if Gibson found himself playing at left back when he's fit.

Tarkowski - 9 - One poor cross-field pass in the first half aside, I thought he was absolutely excellent: a couple of goal saving blocks, lots of headers and lots of mopping up - at times it looked like he was keeping us afloat single handedly in the second half (despite appearing to be managing that groin niggle more than once). If he had any sort of weakness it was his distribution, but its not easy when the only targets are statues.

Mee - 7 - Not great in possession, and played us into trouble needlessly at least twice. But after marking him down for that, he was otherwise defensively excellent - not in the same class as Tarkowski, but excellent. To limit a side who had as much possession and territory as Huddersfield to a single meaningful shot on target requires excellent defending (even when those opponents are Huddersfield rather than Man City).

Cork - 5 - Said in the week I thought he was a serious candidate to give way to Defour or Hendrick, and I stand by it. He's a bit slow to the second ball at the minute, and he's not looking as composed in possession either. In the end, he was anonymous today, apart from a reasonably solid defensive effort, which isn't enough in games like this.

Westwood - 6 - Created a good early chance for Vokes with a gorgeous cross, got into attacking positions a couple of times effectively in the second half and was generally the midfielder most likely to make something happen, but like Cork he was guilty of being far too passive at times and failing to get to the second ball in midfield.

JBG - 7 - A couple of excellent crosses, most obviously the one from which Vokes scored, and he at times looked the only Burnley player wiling to get the ball down and try and play.

Lennon - 6 - Completely wrong to say he did "nothing" offensively today - we didn't get him into the game enough, but he created two good chances in the second half: once when JBG's shot from Lennon's pull back was almost tickled in by Vokes, and once when Westwood got straight onto his pull back and nearly knocked Schindler out with a goal bound shot. That was a good return given the meagre platform he was given, and he got through a tonne of defensive work again.

Vokes - 7 - Absolutely world class header for the opening goal, and looked to be fouled in the box 10 minutes later when going for a repeat. Otherwise, a bit of a threat, but the quality of a ball into him wasn't good enough, and the ineffectiveness of Barnes meant that Huddersfield were able to make the space around him congested and control the second ball.

Barnes - 4 - Completely ineffective from start to finish. Didn't win much in the air, and apart from drawing a couple of fouls did nothing in attack apart from get in Vokes' way. Those two are both worthy players, but they're not a partnership - and apart from away at Palace 2 seasons ago when we were rank underdogs, I can't think of a single good performance when they've been paired together. Rightly hooked, but...

Wood - 5 - ....this was the wrong sub. Looks out of form and low on confidence, and again he's not an ideal foil for Vokes, so the result of the change was to emphasise the gap between our front 2 and midfield.

Hendrick - 7 - Surprised that Westwood was the one to make way, but in his 20 minutes on the pitch he made more positive runs or passes that took defenders out of the game, than Westwood or Cork managed between them in a combined 160 minutes, whilst also twice bailing us out defensively.

Vydra - N/A - can only assume there's a reason behind closed doors why he didn't start, because I can't think of any good reason based on football reasons why he wouldn't have started, or indeed been the Plan B when Plan A failed. In his meaningless spell on the pitch, he showed a bit of energy and drive, even if he did make a bit of a mess of the best counter-attack we managed in the second half.

So - on the plus side, we defended well, looked compact without the ball, and I don't think its fair to accuse the players of a lack of commitment. But in all other respects, that was dire. I'll happily look for the mitigations when we're not especially effective against United, or Cardiff and so on, but its very hard to find any mitigations today. Huddersfield weren't very good, but we allowed them to control the game, played into their hands tactically and technically time and again and were generally alarmingly passive in our approach to the game.

There are still some players well below their best and one or two players - notably the centre halves - had to carry a number of players whose lack of form and confidence made them passengers today. But I don't think Dyche helped them today. The starting line up surprised me, and the subs didn't work. Vydra showed good signs of a partnership with Vokes against Bournemouth, and Dyche himself pointed out what he adds on MOTD 2 last Sunday when he highlighted his contribution to Vokes' winner (by coming short and dragging a defender, allowing JBG to run free). So to leave him out against a team who were always going to play three centre backs and try and bung up the middle of the pitch, in favour of a second target man, appeared on paper to be very odd indeed. Equally, Hendrick added a more positive aspect to our midfield play which had previously been lacking.

Thankfully, we've got the 7 points from the last 3 games that we really needed, but we need to improve on this performance- both to pick up points, and to keep the fans from drifting out of love with what we're trying to achieve.

Hart 6
Lowton 4
Mee 3 - if it's not obvious from everyone in the ground shouting that Mooy is closing you down, the fact he's right in front of you should help you see him.
Tarks 7
Taylor 4 - which sadly is not far off as good as he'll ever get in this division I think
Lennon 3
Westwood 6 - two decent shots, more mopping up, hard work, set up for crosses, some decent crossing but hardly anybody seems to see what this guy brings - possibly he's made to look bad by the execrable...
Cork 3 - is less than 3 still banned?
JBG 6
Vokes 6
Barnes 3 - love this bloke but recently shocking

Wood 3

Dyche 3. Really worried that he really doesn't have any other ideas.

First half not great, but ok.Second half was appalling.

Hart 6
Lowton 5
Tarkowski 8
Mee 5 - I get he did the blocks well, and he defended well, but he could have cost us two goals. He would have against any team who could score
Taylor 5 - got targeted time and time again but has to do better.
Lennon 6 - ok
Cork 4 - shocked he wasn't hooked to be honest
Westwood 6 -
JBG 7
Vokes 6
Barnes 4

Subs

Wood 5
Hendrick 6
Vydra n/a

Huddersfield are a rank bad side with zero goal threat. We made them look a hell of a lot better than that and the passivity we showed is unacceptable at this level as we will get tonked out of sight if we replicate that sort of 2nd half performance.

[quote="THEWELLERNUT70"]I still don't get the insistence on 89th minute substitutes that rarely if ever work. When we are under the cosh we never react to affect the game, we only react once we've conceded. If there are indeed to be 3 teams worse than us this season (on form shown so far) we will be very very lucky!

Hart - 5 little to do but distribution was poor
Lowton - 5 thought he was one of the better players first half but very poor second half
Taylor - 3 slow in possession, slow on the run, slow to react and made some poor decisions
Mee - 5 poor first had but probably the only player to improve in the second
Tarks - 8 mom easily our best player
Lennon - 5 not helped by a team or tactics unable to get him on the ball
JBG - 6 as with Lennon but offered more first half and got an assist
Cork - 3 horrendous
Westwood - 5 better than cork and ok first half
Barnes - 3 genuinely cant think of any positive contribution to the game whatsoever
Vokes - 7 dominant in the air, scored a lovely goal and should have had a penalty minutes later imo as the defender panicked due to his dominance

Hendrick - 6 not on long but better in possession and moved the ball quicker in the time he was on than almost everyone else
Wood - 4 wrong sub, got zero service as we were comfortably second best and creating nothing by the time he came on

SD - 0 whole heartedly got it wrong today, pre and during the game with his selection of the starting 11 and worse (as that does happen) in his failure to react/ change the flow of a game in which it was clear to everyone we were second best.

Just a truly boring, sorry display from the moment they kicked-off there was only one team showed any intent. Perhaps I've seen 3 of the most likely sides to be relegated in the last 6 days. The manager's comments on the game are simply incredible. Talk about deflecting attention with his diatribe on the 'dive'. Coming up six years in charge soon but nothing in our displays this season or the latter part of last season whets my appetite for too much more of this.Abysmal.

Hart - 6 did nothing wrong
Lowton - 5 I actually think his issue is the lack of relationship, with Lennon, it’s poor
Taylor - 4 does anyone else think he approaches the ball as though he is right footed?
Mee - 3 as our captain I think this is the route of the potential issues.
Tarks - 7 he moaned a lot today at Taylor. Taylor didn’t like it, at all. Tension there. Was solid enough though
Lennon - 5 see Lawton
JBG - 6 looks fed up
Cork - 5 he is good in a footballing side.
Westwood - 5 looks a bit lost
Barnes - 4 did he touch the ball more than twice?
Vokes - 7 goal and looked more confident

Hendrick - 5 lost the ball too easily
Wood 5 not his fault ther is nothing but hoof all

SD - 3 needs to go on a course on football.

Hendick 6 should be starting in CM

Bloody awful performance against a poor side. It will be a miracle if we are in this league next season. The most sad thing is the lack of midfield recruitment, we should have sourced a replacement for Defour

Hart 6- not at fault for goal, however could have commanded area better and nearly played himself in to trouble late in second half.
Lowton 6- good cross early little erratic after.
Taylor 4- inspires no confidence defensively at all.
Mee 5- one good block in first half but a shadow of last few seasons.
Tarkowski 6- distribution lacking but not main reason we are not performing.
Cork 4- given the run round by mooy
Westwood 4- struggled to get foothold in a midfield battle though a couple af snap shots on edge of box.
Lennon 5- couple if occasions did some gritty work however the lack of midfield control means he is hardly threatening.
Gudmondson 6- cross for goal shows that if we can get him in good areas with possession he can create.
Vokes 6*- goal showed create opportunities with crosses and he will score though first chance could also have ended with goal.
Barnes 4- nowhere near form of last 18 months.
Wood 4- why continue with like for like when it played in to Huddersfield hands.
Hendrick 4- the five yard square ball in own box when under pressure sums him up.
Vydra 5- may have done better when gudmondson made good run should have been on earlier. If only because he is a different option
