Is this newly promoted Fulham who battered us and are only 3pts behind us despite playing 3 of the big 6 whilst we've played 4 of the bottom 5?DAVETHEVICAR wrote:Just watching Fulham on Sky who play lovely attacking football just like some of our fans want us to play
However the usual outcome ,if the players are not top standard ,is conceding goals for fun and heavy defeats.
Prefer the Dyche way and watching players like Hazard at home to watch every week
As I type this it is now 1-4 to Arsenal
They look far better than we did in the first Prem season under Dyche and are much more likely to stay up whilst playing miles more entertaining and attacking football then we did

Seem to recall plenty of folk saying be careful what you wish for with regards to Arsenal fans wanting Wenger gone. Hasn't worked out too bad so far has it?

Not at all nice to hear the booing yesterday. Uncalled for. One criticism; why, with seven minutes go - a good fifteen, if you count the extra time - and a substitute apiece about to come on, did theirs come straight on, while ours, Vydra, had to wait another five minutes. This, I found the most annoying part of the game.

Because we were defending set pieces when Vydra was ready. Managers rarely make a substitution in those situations unless they are bringing someone on who is superior in the air to the player going off which obviously wasn't the case with Vydra coming on for Vokes.dermotdermot wrote:Not at all nice to hear the booing yesterday. Dyche IN
I'm not in favour of Dyche going anywhere, but lets imagine we made a change, whats with waiting to the end of the season? if your going to make a change stats probably prove its better to do it mid-season than end of the season.
Garlick OUT
Where's all the money gone Mr ̶A̶s̶h̶l̶e̶y̶ Garlick ? It's time we stopped giving this guy an easy ride. Dyche has had his hands tied because of his policys.

Vydra was needed much earlier as Huddersfield pushed out, we offered nothing in attack
We desparatly needed a goalscoring cm.Dack scoring for fun worth signing?

And Dyche getting backed means exactly what? More of the same? More ultra-utilitarian midfielders who prefer to help their full-back over getting forward? I don't think there's any evidence that backing Dyche would unleash the inner Pep in him.Pearcey wrote:In. Hopefully he’ll get backed in January.

If you want to have this sort of discussion, two things are required
1) End of the season
2) Don't let people who post absolute rubbish after every defeat or bad performance but are "too busy" to visit when we are doing well have a say
Its need to be a balanced debate with reasonable points made.
The internet has bred a want it right now culture . Life does not fit that attitude well. If we become angry after a bad result it's not good to vent . A bad season even is not the end of the world.
I'd be happy for Sean to stay 25 years . Man utd can't replace fergie and his dynasty . That kind of magnificence takes time and tolerance of bad days.
When we were in championship I'd be happy to accept the yo yo club phase for 10 years . Up and down . Getting the money . Improving slowly in all areas . That was a dream back then . I see nothing since to support us expecting to be high performing premier league club yet. It's the long game that counts.

On the question it surely has to be IN.
But something's knocking us off kilter at the moment. Ive no idea what - id be simply speculating. But it looks more of a mental thing to me.
I think the messages from the top have been too negative and its noe trickled down to the players. How do you manage to keep positive when your ultimate top of ths shop publicly doesnt think we can compete so plans for failure?

Partly just because he deserves it, he's transformed our club for the better. Also, for our budget, he's probably as good as anyone out there. It's going to be a tough season, we're playing some really terrible football. But there's 30 games to go and we're 5 points above the drop zone.
It's a bit rubbish at the moment, I'm not pretending it isn't but let's show a bit of patience, stick together and see if things pick up. Not at the Etihad maybe, but over the next couple of months.

Howe's exciting football? FFS it was total shite. Slow, supposedly patient, turgid dull stuff that was taking us towards relegation before he left.
For Dyche in out discussion, see Megson at West Brom / Bolton, Pulis at Stoke etc. That's the position Burnley are in - fans Bored of being 7th / 12th in the prem, grafting out results that are above the expected level of the clubs reputation / spend. I fully get the entertainment desire - I was one of Cotterball's biggest critics, but I'd also like to think I am a pragmatist, and realise that what is happening at present, with fighting to stay in the prem is as good as it gets from a league position perspective.

By size of club Burnley should be somewhere in the bottom half of the Championship. Using league position to wage bill in the Premier League Burnley would have been relegated bottom in every season after their promotions. Burnley are massive overachievers - just take a look at the huge clubs trying to get out of the Championship. Sean Dyche's achievements at the club are on a par with those of Harry Potts and Jimmy Adamson. It is completely mad to think of him being eased out. Burnley's style of football is designed to keep a club with a relatively limited squad in the Premier League, an open expansive passing game would lead to automatic relegation.

Watching us isn't enjoyable anymore and I'm not sure why I bother, but i'll continue to bother.
The football is the worst style of play I have ever seen played by any club, at any level. The ''we haven't got the players capable of attacking or passing the ball'' myth is utter toss too, Coyle had us playing wonderful football on 1/50th of the budget. We can't even play good football against League One and Two sides.
I think the Turf atmosphere says a lot, 18k+ gates and it's never been as quiet in the home ends.

The clubs accounts are published, so Mr Garlick cannot be doing anything with the money. Also, how do we know it’s the board that is responsible for the lack of signings? How do you know it’s not SD that is putting a realistic value on players and telling the board not to go OTT and pay too much? The answer is; you don’t, and neither do I. I, for one, think the board are doing a great job in trying to keep us in this division whilst safeguarding the future of the club. Also, how many other clubs in the Prem and top half of the Championship don’t have a mega-rich sugar daddy?PutTheWheelieBinsOut wrote:Dyche IN

Last season the midfield were our first line of defence, this season they are the oppositions start point.

It’s because we have a rigid framework to try and contain much stronger teams on a weekly basis and we take that tactic into games against ‘smaller’ clubs who utilise it against us. SD is a one dimensional manager, but he has done, and is doing, the job to keep us in this league. Pretty, free flowing football will have to wait.KRBFC wrote:Explain why we can't play free flowing attacking football against teams we are leagues ahead of and we're 3 million times richer. They guy has worked wonders at this Club; he gets Burnley and he has been loyal to us and our team (sorry, his team) since day 1.
Before you string yourself up from the nearest beam, have a look at the League Table. 12th with 1 point per game. Even if we do lose at the Etihad, we will still be in a reasonable position. If we're bottom by New Year, then you can hide the knives and cut up longer pieces of rope
