If he did it would be the first example of passion from him or any other member of the squad shown this season.

Yes. Looked like it. There were some boos from the Jimmy Mac and some shouts in the lower tier. He tur ed round and gestured and shouted.

Unlike Sam Vokes who applauded all four stands on his own. Ben Mee seems like he has a chip on his shoulder this season. Going back to Europa League with Lindegaard. He was an arsehole with him.

Pathetic if so. From both ends. To boo him and for him to respond.

I'd have done the same listening to some of the crap spouting from the stands. Were going through a bad patch... You know what let's all get on our players backs that should improve perfomances. Numpteys.

He did. Frustration on both sides, but as a professional he needs to be able to rise above it. Disappointing from Ben.

Some on the fans behind me needed telling to F OFF ... Clueless , never played the sport in their life, pay 30 quid and think they can shout **** to a pro of his game. The tension caused by the fans was incredible, talk about putting the players under pressure. Clueless

I said in the summer that I felt he'd gone mentally. He expected to move on and get a final big contract. It didn't materialise and he's not been able to get his head back in the game. He really does look a shadow of his former self. A real shame.

What are the club thinking of ? Letting people into the ground whove never played professional football ? ..and letting them express an opinion as well ? Games gone mad !

The difference is he is in the public limelight, on television, children are watching and is an ambassador for the club as captain. More passion on the pitch would be appreciated.

Once he waited so long to sign his contract we should have done what Arsenal did with Ramsey and told him to clear off. Pandering to him and making him undroppable is ridiculous, he's been awful this season.

I must have been at wrong match.... We'd just missed possibly the last chance of the game....he gesticulated and said his bit but I'm not aware of any abuse aimed at him. It was a strange end to the match.Untinted Glasses wrote:Some on the fans behind me needed telling to F OFF ... Did he not show passion on the pitch tonight? I thought he played well one of our better players (wasn't too hard) definitely didn't deserve the boos and abuse. Not sure I'd want to put my body on the line for fickle shortminded fans like Dyche requires of his team. Great job all those shouting abuse and Booing that will help out performances in the next game for sure. Keep up the great work.Blackrod wrote:The difference is he is in the public limelight, on television, children are watching and is an ambassador for the club as captain. I hope his pace of speech is quicker than his use of a football at his feet.
If not it would have been nothing more than an inaudible groan and the intended target would likely have been flicking the kettle on at home by the time the last 'f' was delivered.

Ben Mee has been bloody awful by the way this season so is probably best advised to keep his mouth shut.

I’ve heard a lot of theories of why we could go down - but the fans who tried to get behind the team for parts of the game when our players couldn’t pass 10 yards properly being the reason is a special one.
Re: Did Ben Mee tell home fans to f@@k off at end of match
Nothing to do with the players lack of ability or Dyche's tactical ineptitude then?brigante wrote:It’s the abusive fans and the booers who will see us down

Not been at his best this season. But certainly one of the best centre halfs most of us have seen in a Claret shirt! People are so fickle he was outstanding last season and deservedly got the plaudits, then to get on his back after a few loose games is pathetic. We should all be backing our team not name calling.Good on him if he has reacted I would be more concerned if he didn't!

Guilty for both goals one og and non marking of Clarke fir 2nd. Redeemed himself a little with pass for Sams goal but if he did swear at fans he needs dropping.

Mee has been poor all season other than a couple of recent games. Was poor tonight, lost his man for the second goal and his distribution was awful as usual. He is the one that should F*** off. All round disgraceful performance from the team tonight. Dyche seems to have no idea how to change it. Look like a team devoid of confidence who are going down. Can't see us beating anyone at the moment. The football is just awful to watch. I was very close to booing tonight which is something I never do. Won't be going to any more away games this season. There is no enjoyment whatsoever watching this awful Dycheball.

When the club captain, and them moderator of a fans message board understands and feels it's appropriate to swear at children In the stands, you know it's time to pack it in.
Like many who dare fans to "say it to the players face" regarding criticism, I'd more than welcome a player to swear ( or use that language) to my son . As he'd be more than "touch and go" for quite a period if time.
Disgusting from the club captain!

Ben Mee headed a ball at Reading 5 or so years ago so he is beyond any form of reproach in some people's eyes!

Agree. He hasn't been the player he has been for us in previous seasons. First few games were woeful, I do feel his personal performances are improving but things like this won't help a player who clearly plays off passion and will to win.bfc1984 wrote:Not been at his best this season. But certainly one of the best centre halfs most of us have seen in a Claret shirt! The reaction of both fans and player in this situation the latest and perhaps most telling example of the 360 we seem to have gone through in the space of just a few months - we've completely lost the unique identity which made us stand out from the majority of PL clubs.
Don't know whats behind it but feels like someone somewhere has pressed the self-destruct button.
