Van Dijk
MOTM for them (unfortunately), I don't think I've seen a better CB at the Turf

Re: Van Dijk
We said exactly the same when he played at the Turf for Southampton. Don't like the transfer fees these days, but he's definitely worth his.

Re: Van Dijk
It's amazing what 75 million can buy,he has definitely brought solidity to a previously leaky back line.

Re: Van Dijk
I think if you asked all premier league strikers who the best centre back currently is in the premier league I think 80% would say Van Dijk. He's a monster.

Barnes did block him off for our goal though!
Great player nonetheless....

Re: Van Dijk
Brilliant. I swear I saw him whistling while controlling the ball and stepping past two of our players .

Re: Van Dijk
A monster of a player and doesn't even break sweat. A lot of money but worth every penny in today's mad transfer market, especially when you look at the money man utd have spunked on defenders. He's no John Pender though.

So what if he cost a lot - the point being made is that he look to be worth the money (in football terms) every time he plays against us.

And also had one of the worst centre backs playing next to him, so did doubly well.

If you were a neutral you could pay just to see him, immense at both ends of the pitch, yet again.

VvD stood out from everyone else on the pitch and I was impressed with Joe Gomez as well, what a talent this lad looks.
Re: Van Dijk
Certainly a class above the likes of John Stones.

Re: Van Dijk
That big, that fast and that good at positioning makes him an absolute roll-royce of a player.
Re: Van Dijk
The same John Stones that was a key figure in a World Cup semi final team, a Premier League winner last season and a regular in arguably the best team we’ve ever seen in the Premier League?Spijed wrote:Certainly a class above the likes of John Stones.
Re: Van Dijk
Van Dijk seems to have a lot more strength about him. And he's surrounded by players who aren't as good as those in the Man City team.RVclaret wrote:The same John Stones that was a key figure in a World Cup semi final team, a Premier League winner last season and a regular in arguably the best team we’ve ever seen in the Premier League?
