Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager

Post by lifelongclaret » Wed Dec 26, 2018 10:37 pm

If Twitter is too be believed, David Moyes has been at our last 4 games, I don’t want this topic to be another argument about Sean Dyche and should he stay or go... but would you want Moyes as the next gaffer,

Their is no vacancy at Burnley and even if SD dropped dead Moyes would not fit the roll for me.

Want? No.

Believe it would happen? Absolutely. A good friend of some of the power mongers at Turf Moor, and hovering around the club like a vulture waiting to fly in and tuck in to some flesh.

I would imagine that if Dyche was to go, it would be either Moyes or Bruce based upon our current predicament and likely pull. Any talk of Allardyce is fanciful as he would expect a pot of cash we will not offer.

Apparently, he's a big mate of Barry Kilby.
That's why he's a frequent visitor.

Bet he doesn't queue up for his ticket..... ;)

There you go, you can't make a positive comment about the club....laughable  don't think Moyes got Preston promoted out of the Championship twice!

I personally wouldn’t want Moyes or Bruce, both are yesterday’s men, a overseas manager or another young and upcoming manager who would give us a chance to get out the championship would be my choice, ( that’s presuming we go down) .. I actually think Mike Garlick needs to explain why the clubs not progressed , the club seems to be still acting like a championship club,

You might want to look into those achievements, I’m not so sure he has.

He never got Preston promoted to the big league (Dyche did us twice, automatically both) and he has never won a trophy.

He got Everton to the Champions League qualifiers a couple of times and a Cup Final loss, got Sunderland relegated, began the ruin of Man United, just about scraped by with West Ham (but lost 0-3 at home to Dyche).

I would say his achievements, when really inspected, are actually rather poor.

Gary Monk for me. If we go down he is currently more likely to bring us up rather than SD who has lost the players. Done a great job with Birmingham and nearly got Leeds up too. At this rate someone is going to get him

Bloke who didn't get promoted with Leeds and didn't get promoted with Birmingham is a better fit for Burnley than bloke who actually did get promoted with Burnley and actually did get promoted again with Burnley?

If Moyes isn’t good enough and names like Lampard (!) are being bandied about I’m going to take a punt and predict some people are going to be mightily disappointed with our next appointment (whenever that might be)

Doubt the any of the names linked with us would be exciting, should a vacancy become available.

But let’s face it, as long as the guy was half competent he couldn’t make us any worse.

If Dyche goes I'd look at Jokanovic. He's had two promotions from the Championship with Watford and Fulham, plus he plays attack minded, entertaining football (this is a must for me) . You won't find a more suitable manager for us currently, certainly not one who's openly available. Best case scenario we become a yo yo club who play the game the right way.

An upcoming manager from lower leagues or overseas. Monk is not a bad shout though. At the moment anyone who makes me look forward to matches would be better.

Comparing his Manure record to Van Gaal or Jose I think you might. He’s a top man still looking for the right job. SD still has credit in the bank for me though.
