Conversely how many games have we won with Westwood and Cork in the midfield. I'd imagine there won't be too much dissimilar in win ratio?Hibsclaret wrote:It’s about opinions. Obviously yours is right as always.
We have won 4 prem games with Taylor in the team and he ain’t good enough.
Root cause analysis on the first goal. Don’t give a fcn corner away in the first minute and while you’re at it learn to cross the ball

But how many phases of play where there between Taylor giving away the corner and the goal.
I'm 100% sure you can see what I'm getting at, so stop the crap and just say "fair enough, you might expect anyone of the other players to do slightly more to stop it"
It devalues your complaints about Taylor massively to be fair.
If anything anyone from the trio of Mee/Hart/Lowton are more culpable for the 1st goal before you even to bring Taylor into consideration

Re: Stephen Ward
Obviously Hib's love for Ward completely skews his perception of Taylor and always has.
Granted yesterday Taylor gave away a needless corner, but the defending that led to the goal was nothing to do with him, yet somehow he is being made the scapegoat for that goal.
He was one of the few yesterday up for the scrap. He made numerous crucial blocks and won balls he had no right to win and generally played quite well, yet still he gets no credit. I feel bad for the guy, he can do no right in some people's eyes.

Not easy for Taylor being thrown into such a poor team that is completely lacking confidence. Ward was playing in a team that was so well organised that there was always cover, our defenders never really got exposed one on one etc.

Really. The defensive frailties are because his bad positioning affects everyone else.jrgbfc wrote:Not easy for Taylor being thrown into such a poor team that is completely lacking confidence. He is so poor it’s laughable
Re: Stephen Ward
You can't seriously believe that all our defensive problems are down to Taylor? We're that much of a shambles this season even Ward at his peak would have been made to look bad.Hibsclaret wrote:Really. The defensive frailties are because his bad positioning affects everyone else.

Re: Stephen Ward
As I said earlier it is down to Taylor and to a lesser extent the keeper.
Have a watch of our second goal against Liverpool at the Turf 3 seasons ago. Tell me who the furthest claret forward is and then consider whether that could ever be Charlie Taylor. He is not good enough.

Re: Stephen Ward
Hibsclaret must of really known that it was Xmas when this thread popped up!!
Taylor is one of 11 bad players currently. He has been nowhere near the worst player in the team this season, in fact he’s been the shining light quite a few times and the player rating have highlighted this.
When you read Hibs earlier post which states that Taylor being in the team has lead to Mee and Tarks having a poorer season that last you know that anything that he posts should be ignored as he clearly continues with his warped obsession with Ward. It also always quite telling that he is nowhere to be seen after the games that Taylor does well in the ratings.
Hibs is a Ward fan not a BFC fan.

Re: Stephen Ward
Yet you still fail to recognise that a midfield with Cork/Westwood in it is a major problem because they offer so little in the way of protection to the back four it usually ends up with opposition players having a free run on the defenceHibsclaret wrote:As I said earlier it is down to Taylor and to a lesser extent the keeper.

File under was a good buy.Great in the past Taylor has been getting better all the time and can put in crosses
Problem is our leftsided midfield not covering when Charlie goes on a run.

Re: Stephen Ward
We have the games that we have won via HibsClaret as a left back our win ratio with Taylor in the team
I want to know
A/ what is our win ratio with Cork/Westwood in midfield
B/ Our win ratio with Taylor/Cork/Westwood in the original line up, because it won't be dissimilar

It’s just a pity they all end up around 40 yards from a claret shirt !

I’m far from convinced that he was a good buy or if he is good enough for this level but he is nowhere near our biggest issue in relation to first team players, isn’t the reason that Mee and Tarks have had a dip in form and certainly isn’t the reason that we have picked up so few points this season.

Forget that
We have a poster on here that thinks that because Taylor is in the team it somehow affects our entire back 5 or 6. Which is utter utter utter garbage

I’m sure that Taylor didn’t mean to ignore your request for an autograph, but you really should follow the stipulations of the restraining order he’s now taken out against you.

Re: Stephen Ward
Really.
Nobody has mentioned another cross that has lead to anything yet.
Wtf is an agenda. I have no reason to dislike one player beyond the fact that my eyes tell me he is not good enough, we rarely win when he plays, he doesn’t provide assists and his defensive positional sense is about league 1 standard

Gibson yet to prove it fully but I reckon he is
Lowton. This is about his 4th or 5th season in the prem at least
Mee 4th season in the prem
So basically all the defence are prem players except Taylor who has 4 prem wins on his cv
Tarkowski never selected this season
Gibson started one prem game for us an got subbed
Lowton? The mere fact you mentioned him as a premier League player is laughable he's been dropped recently for an ageing Phil Bardsley! Doubt he'd get in another prem starting 11
Mee has been awful all season looks no where near good enough
