solskjaer
just shows the ups and downs of football management, by rights he should have disappeared without a trace after the cardiff fiasco.
Now he will be part of a ridiculously wealthy set up with countless millions at his disposal.
not many get chances like this, easy for fans to slate unsuccessful managers at all clubs, but who really knows what they're capable of?
That's why city aren't that impressive either, no comparison to what virtually every other football club has to contend with day in, day out.

Re: solskjaer
I think in football there's a certain type of club for a certain type of manager.
Howe at Bournemouth and Dyche here.
Moyes at Everton.
Not saying Solskjaer will succeed but you never know.

Re: solskjaer
Solskjaer the Babiest Faciest Manager in the Premier League...... the Benjamin Button of Football ... he seems to look younger as he gets older... or do you think he has a portrait in the Attic?

How much did we get for Solskjaer?
I hope we didn't let him go too cheaply.

Re: solskjaer
It's only a loan deal, he's still contracted to Molde and barring a bizarre footballing miracle he will be back there at the end of the summer.
Very odd appointment, but at least he's actually managed, unlike the other alternative - Carrick.
It will be amusing to see what would happen if they finish outside the top 10 though.

Re: solskjaer
Very sensible appointment.
They stand no chance of 4th, probably out of the Champions League and he won’t get the job in the summer.
A ‘take a breath and reset appointment’, gets the fans back happy and behind the team, no pressure, no expectations giving the board time to get the big name in.
As a player you’d also imagine working in a lot more relaxed environment as opposed to the tense ‘it’s all about me psychology’ bullsh1t Mourinho had around him, I expect them to turn in some performances on that basis alone.
Expect Pogba to be on fire from now on.

Re: solskjaer
they appointed mourinho because he clearly knew what he was doing at the top level, his lack of success at old trafford wont mean a relaxed anything for his successor, however temporary.harpers_perm wrote:Very sensible appointment.

Micky Phelan has also announced he isn’t giving up his day job, in Oz.
They must both know the score but so will the players, never a good thing.

Re: solskjaer
Imagine us sacking Dyche and getting Andy Payton or Glenn Little in?
He will have a good start as the players will be released from Mouriniho's shackles and will express themselves with a smile on their faces. Hopefully by the end of January that has worn off and he has tried to implement silly tactics.

There would be no issue if AP or GL had successfully managed our reserve team and then gone on to manage for numerous years in oppose to sitting the the Sidewalk drinking WKDQuickenthetempo wrote:Imagine us sacking Dyche and getting Andy Payton or Glenn Little in?

Re: solskjaer
All done it get a feel good factor back. Start playing with freedom etc. That in turn will get the fans on side. But here’s the twist. Will it? I’m not sure Utd fans will accept players starting to actually give a damn. They’ll surely turn on Pogba and co big time.

Re: solskjaer
Sir Alex have appointed Ole Gunnar, no doubt about it.
Re: solskjaer
I think I prefer the Moaninho United fans - The arrogance is back already.
Everyone else is **** so he'll do well and get us playing really good football.
The moment one claimed things couldn't get worse was a good one, bearing in mind I think as Burnley fans we appreciate things can get worse in football.. and one of the other lads was a Blackpool fan - Oh how we laughed.
I'd love to see united fans go from this to relegation, they'd all have mental breakdowns, before either claiming they've not been proper fans for a while and can't be bothered anymore or, it's good, coz they get to beat different teams.

Re: solskjaer
Just watched his press conference - a part of me wants him to do really well, because he's a great person and has a good outlook on life and he could be the one to breathe new life into them. Of course if he did well it would mean Man Utd doing well, which is the dilemma for me...

Dont see it as that bad an appointment. Polar opposite of what they had with Mourinho. Not that they deserve Mourinho... But I do see OGS doing well.
Pogba is a disgrace though.

Watching these highlights United could have had 3 players sent off....but no referee would dare do that at the Theatre of Two Hats

Definitely, thought Young should have gone. How that wasn't reckless and endangering a player I've no idea. Penalty should have been given too when it was 3-1 but kicking someone in the chest doesn't seem to get you a pen at OT for the opposition. Then Lukaku scores a goal half a yard offside but that's fine too.TVC15 wrote:Watching these highlights United could have had 3 players sent off....but no referee would dare do that at the Theatre of Two Hats
Let's not worry though as Bournemouth will get the same decisions for them very shortly and United will suffer the reverse. Of course.

Re: solskjaer
Mason seemed as cowardly or as inept as usual - Bournemouth weren't going to get a thing all match. It was interesting how MOTD glossed over the fact that all the points mentioned in Goodclarets could and should have cost United points.

Mason is, and always has been, a truly awful Ref. Watching MotD last night only served to confirm that to me.
Re: solskjaer
It’s good that they’re having a bit of a resurgence under Solksjaer.
It’ll make it all the more sweet when they narrowly miss out on Champions League football and their most hated rivals win the league for the first time in thirty years.
Wankers.

They knew what they were doing when they sacked the moaning one off as they were clearly looking at the upcoming fixtures which gave the new guy a honeymoon period with pretty much guaranteed wins.
