Sure someone will start thinking Dyche is going to want this job.

I can remember having a(quite reasonable)debate on here a few years back with a Middlesbrough fan, soon after we’d both been promoted. He was, quite naturally, talking up his own fella, referring me to Karanka’s playing career, and his coaching pedigree in comparison to Sean Dyche’s, and confidently predicting that Karanka would go on to have a better Managerial Career than Sean.

Not much of a Soothsayer, was he?

Forest’s usual reaction to sacking a manager is, to check if there is any one available who has managed Derby and then draw up a shortlist. Lump on Gary Rowett is my advice.

Hasn't been sacked. He asked to be released from the remainder of his contract. Presumably he has another Job lined up elsewhere.

He's asked to leave. I don't think they did much to try and persuade him but it was his own decision. Mind you, when he did that at Middlesbrough he actually came back.

Do Forest still have that bellend of a chairman in charge, or has there been a change?

Different one. I assume you mean Fawaz. Now they have the guy that owns Olympiakos and has made a career out of routinely sacking managers.

My Wifes Son and Family live up at Guisborough and are regulars at the Riverside... they hadn't/haven't anything good to say about Karawanka then or now (even when they were promoted along side us in 2016)

He seems to fall out with every club he’s at eventually.

Bit like his mate Mourinho.

At least Mourinho's got the trophies to back up his arrogance,as for Karanka he's won nothing, even in Boro's promotion season they were only runners-up.

Yeah! but then he'd forfeit any potential pay-off.

Forest have had 8 managers and a few 'caretaker managers' since Sean Dyche took charge at Burnley.
Their highest finish in that time has been 8th place in 2012/13 and their average in the seasons sine then has been 16th!

Some decent names at the top of the betting, he must be putting lots of cash in.

Anyone with a name that rhymes with W@nker will always be up against it imo . Having the owner of Olympiakos at the helm must be a nice reassurance...

I still struggle to even think of Aitor Karanka without singing his name in my head to the tune of ‘La Cucaracha’.

I prefer Joey's Karanka song ;)

Seriously though, this guy could start a fight in an empty room. I remember when he said that if he had our squad, they'd have been promoted by Christmas. Not sure what Boro's players thought of that!

Smells of our last promotion season when we charged past them in the league and he threw a wobble - missed a game in charge (amid rumours he had quit) then came back - think Forest have called his bluff

Comes across as an odd fella that Karanka. Seems completely devoid of any kind of personality or humour, almost like a robot.

Nigel Clough would be the sensible long-term appointment, but it looks like the favourite is Jokanovic,it's a decent job Forest just outside the P/O places,if he can get them playing as Fulham did last season the Forest fans should be excited.

I've never seen him not being serious or cracking any jokes, he's what I would describe as wooden maybe he does have a personality its well concealed if he has.

Looks certain to be Martin O'Neill now, 11th manager since June 2011 !! Leeds have had 14 ( including caretaker managers ) since Simon Grayson left in 2012 ... these two make Rovers 7 managers since 2012 look like stability !!

You'd think these people would learn, wouldn't you !!
