Certainly his place to lose, even with JBG back and ready.

Probably best if he stays out of our penalty box from now on though. Today was his second aberration in less than 2 weeks! Clown!!!

Goal line clearance was something else, followed up with closing down the BHA back line.

Wtf was he doing though before our penalty, when he was bloody lucky he didn't give a penalty away. He did exactly the same the other week at OT, he needs to use his loaf.
Saying that I much prefer him than Gudmonson in that position, who has been very poor this season

At least you can rely on Hendrick to be fit every week unlike the competitors for his position.

With how stretched we’ve been due to injuries out wide he is indispensable.

Has been fantastic since moving to the right.

Edit - in fact he’s been good all season. He was one of the only players to come out of the first half of the season with some credit.

He's getting rave reviews because he is playing in a position that A) isn't alien to him, and B) allows him to get around the pitch better.

He's NEVER been a bad player, just used badly imho.

Delighted for him.

Played well again today, but nearly , nearly undid it all in a moment of madness AGAIN .

Not sure if it's a confidences thing or whether he just panics and rushes.

Certainly fits great into that right sided role away as he makes us more solid when defending narrow.
At home though we may need a little more creativity, and a man who can beat a man, create and cross.

Horses for courses maybe.

Have to hold my hand up of late were Jeff concerned
Didn't think the signing of Hendrick was inspiring at the time and had been asked to play a position that was against the grain playing the no ten roll
but even in that position he got on with a job unfamiliar to him and his determination and what hes learnt he has grown on me and a long with westwood must be in contention for most improved player of the season and definitely in the reckoning for player of the season

The vast majority on here recognised he was being played in a position that simply didn't suit him. he's looked so much better since, unsurprisingly. Most on here saying either play him as a natural centre mid (rather than no. 10), right mid (as per Eire) or drop him rather than playing where he was.

I've said it in the past, he's a confidence player and its safe to say his confidence is currently high. Nevertheless, lets not be revisionist and suddenly hail him as some sort of Zidane like footballing god over his time at BFC. As good as he can be, he can also demonstrate Stanislas v Leicester levels of uselessness when he's off the boil.

Jeff is flying at the moment and I hope it continues (as long as he's not pushed back to number 10, I think he will). Certainly I wouldnt be dropping him anytime soon on this form.

Great to see him playing well and really influencing games in both attack and defence.

Lancaster is very kind above, but I'm pretty sure there were a few people who suggested this might be his best role, certainly in our set up. It seems to get the best out of his great strength, which his ability to drive with the all from deep and at pace. It hints us a counter attacking quality we've lacked at times.

He got a bit of luck with the penalty today, although as a team we've got into a habit of putting arms out to control the ball on the chest and it's a dangerous move - looked as though Murray deflected it onto the arm, but it was out in that chair position and it's something we probably need to be careful of.

As a unit, we look so much better for getting back to a tight midfield 4 and an aggressive, physical and mobile front 2.

If the penalty had been given and we drew 2all, he would of been hung, drawn and quatered on here.

He's doing alright in spells.

Why would you laugh, last week he was woeful. Yesterday he was excellent.

Were you laughing last week because you knew he was going to be excellent this week?

Can I have next weeks lottery numbers.

Not sure it was madness yesterday.
Certainly v silly at Old Trafford, but I thought yesterday, that whilst it should have been a penalty, it was more a question of him having his arm in the wrong place, misjudging the bounce and angle of the ball, and getting himself into a bit of a mess as he turned to try and chest it away.
So yes, OT - premeditated and gave the referee a decision to make, yesterday - mitigating circumstances.

He certainly has a strength if character about him. Playing where he was, how he was for so long could well have destroyed a lesser bloke. I just hope that the experiment is over. Either of the two positions you mention (and even the bench) are a better option for Jeff Hendrick, and for us as a team.

To be fair, a blind man on a galloping horse could see that even Goalkeeper would've been a better position than the one he was being asked to play in. Does well for Eire.
Anyway, like I say, Jeff is playing like he was always able to, and long may it continue. I'm made up for him (and us) and i'm particularly happy that the great unwashed have been proven wrong.

Doesn’t deserve some of the earlier comments.
He chested it onto his arm. It is a pen but he hasn't done it on purpose.
The one at OT is a clear pull on Lindgards shoulder and if you can’t see that you need a sighted partner to talk you through the action.

If the ref had awarded them that pénalty Heats would have saved it! He was on fire yesterday
In an interview with Clarets Player Tom said he enjoyed it when it was “backs to the wall and bodies on the line” time

Great performance from the lads

Especially with Cardiff winning

I think that Jeff has filled the gap that Arfield left behind. He's got a good engine on him and physique to match and seems to be playing with added confidence at the moment. Long may it last.

Indeed. One point hat has been widely overlooked is that Murray blatantly cheated to win a penalty down there last season - but he didn't score it.
