Che Adams interest
Has now been linked to Man Utd and Arsenal. Can’t see us getting him now if that’s true.
Hopefully if we are interested we might perhaps get him over the line as we’ve shown interest in January.
What’s you’re thoughts?

Man Utd are the sort of club who’d buy young talent just so the likes of us can’t get them. He’d need to be wary about that IMO

Re: Che Adams interest
He will see two wage offers. Wary won’t wven come into it I’m afraid.
Bench warmer at united/arsenal, or bench warmer here for 25% of what he’d make there.
It’s my honest belief we had a chance at getting this lad. It’s my honest belief that chance has gone.

Re: Che Adams interest
Or he could come to Burnley to play games dyche puts him in a bigger shop window gets picked for England, then he can pick which club he wants to play for.
He's young enough to use his own brains and not line his agent's pocket.

Re: Che Adams interest
Let him go to UTD then, he won't play much for the first team if at all.
He can doss there for a couple of seasons and pick up his wages for all I care, we can find someone else instead.

Re: Che Adams interest
I think he's on par with Andre Gray in terms of ability. Not good enough for the top 6 sides, but will do a job for any team below.
I can't see him coming to us though.

It's sad that some players put money before playing football, not saying Adams is one of those players but they are out there.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:Let him go to UTD then, he won't play much for the first team if at all.

Looks like we got away with that then...
Re: Che Adams interest
I'd be absolutely amazed if United were in for him. There getting linked with the likes of Dybala and Icardi.

Agent talk for me. Maddison was the same, linked with virtually every top 6 club before it boiled down to just Leicester and Southampton.
Not that it’ll change anything for us even if we’re still in the Prem come summer, in my opinion. We’ll sit tutting over potential asking prices, which Bournemouth or one of those I just mentioned will probably just pay.

Perhaps I'm too cynical, but this has the ring of a story that suits Birmingham given they're about to have to explain to the Football League why they turned down offers from us and Southampton at the end of the window, and justify their seemingly extravagant valuation of the player.

God Spice, stop being so naive. Clearly this lad is destined for the very top of the game and we have missed out because our board are too stupid to just ask "how much do you want?" and then pay the quoted amount.claretspice wrote:Perhaps I'm too cynical, but this has the ring of a story that suits Birmingham given they're about to have to explain to the Football League why they turned down offers from us and Southampton at the end of the window, and justify their seemingly extravagant valuation of the player.

Re: Che Adams interest
Birmingham can value Adams at 40-50 million (i know they haven't) doesn't mean any potential buyers will pay it,their justification to the Football League why they rejected seemingly reasonable offers from interested parties will be intriguing to hear.claretspice wrote:Perhaps I'm too cynical, but this has the ring of a story that suits Birmingham given they're about to have to explain to the Football League why they turned down offers from us and Southampton at the end of the window, and justify their seemingly extravagant valuation of the player.

Re: Che Adams interest
Adams will be 23 in the summer.
When was the last time Utd, Arsenal or any of the other top 6 clubs signed a player of Adams’ age from a side in the second tier?
There’s no way they have a genuine interest in the lad. Those kind of moves are from a bygone era.

Re: Che Adams interest
Exactly. Why sign a player from the second tier and put effort into developing him into a Premier League player when a team like Burnley can do all the legwork, and on the very off-chance that he is top drawer sign him in a couple of seasons.agreenwood wrote:Adams will be 23 in the summer.

Agree entirely - the big clubs have been doing this for years, buying players they don't need so that others can't have them. Chelsea are probably the worst, last I knew they had a whole army of players out on loan because they don't need them.Rick_Muller wrote:Man Utd are the sort of club who’d buy young talent just so the likes of us can’t get them. Hardly think Che Adams falls into that category though as he's not seen as a top player.houseboy wrote:Agree entirely - the big clubs have been doing this for years, buying players they don't need so that others can't have them.
