Senior players 90 min run out

Post by KateR » Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:53 pm

So few senior players given 90 min in match against Salford, Crouch, JBG, Vydra 2 each and Brady 1. Will we see more changes through these remaining games, Pope played but don't expect to see him unless TH is injured (hopefully not), JBG I expect to see more of Brady & Crouch I think will be tried as impact subs rather than starters, Vydra I don't really expect to see though.

Obviously opposition totally different but hopefully fitness and confidence can help, I would like to see more of Crouch for certain matches rather than last 15 mins as I do think he could do some damage, we will of course see. I have always liked him and think he is quite skillful and not just a tall guy that can head a ball, certainly love to see him score for us before the end of the season and become the oldest PL scorer for us.

Not this season. Graham Alexander was 38 years 6 months exactly when he scored twice against Hull; Crouch won't be that age until July this year. Mind you, I wouldn't back against him still being here next year as a situational sub, if he's happy to play 10 minutes now and then.

About as good as it's going to get for Crouch for me. A poor, desperate signing who belongs in a different era. Vydra, I suspect, will be hoping to move on and I can fully understand why when he's seeing a 38 yr. old getting at least some game time ahead of him.

Were you expecting to see more senior players involved?

Behind closed doors training game gets someone whinging about something, times like this when I realise we are wrong to criticise any other clubs fans and their comments and that includes the boycotting plastic lot

Yep. We just can't do right for doing wrong. We have never had things so good, especially when you consider the modern game and the finances behind it all, yet we still find something to complain about. :?
