12,000 meeting at the tower before marching to the ground in time for kick-off, should be quite a spectacle.

Boooo. As one who lived in Blackpool for a while, has been chased by their fans and had to restrain my Dad in the home end at Bloomfield Road, I still wish them well for today.

Oh, also got a tenner on them at evens.

Absolutely brilliant for them today. They have stuck to their guns with their fight against Oyston, even when they won promotion a couple of seasons ago. They deserve today and they will feel like winners no matter what the result.

There is a message of hope here for real supporters everywhere. Professionally and unselfishly run, with a good business plan, this club could
be more successful than most in towns much larger.

Like many on here I have memories of trips to Bloomfield Rd following BFC including trying to sleep in a lifeboat on the prom after a night in Jenkinsons in the middle of winter. Didn't last long.

Never minded Blackpool, I liked the tangerines - goes back to the 4th division days when we rivals for promotion, plus one of my best mates at school in 6th form was a Pool fan and a diamond geezer. Always brought a decent following to Turf too.
Good luck to em.

Jenks...Family Cat, Charlatans, Bradford, Carter USM..some great nights. Didn't ever know it as 'Jenkinsons' tbh.

Edit: they used to sell poppers behind the bar for a while - ha ha

Became "rumours" after....preferred it as jenks..I'm sure i was in when the Tourists played there. The Adam n Eve and 007 all popular in the seventies.followed by a trip to the shari grill facing the old odeon cinema.

Just Ji's anyone? Alternative night on Mondays, near the bus station. A smallish but loyal crowd sustained a scene in Blackpool for a while.

Absolutely - they've stuck to their guns, fought for what was right. It has taken time but they've won. No matter what happens to their club now, through them it is Oyston free.

It was, as you say right next to the bus station, down the stairs. All mirrors and black interior, compact and intimate, bar on the left, dancefloor on the right. I used to go from about 1989/90 onwards.

That was impossible today - the result hardly mattered at all - the dream was an Oyston free club and they've got it. Fantastic attendance too of 15,871.
