Andy Carroll unlikely to play for WHU again....
Up there with the Pope pooping in the woods and bears being Catholic.
Three goals since April, 2017 and four seasons out of six where he's played fewer than twenty games in all competitions.
£15 million he cost then - quite a decent sum for six years ago.

When he was fit and fired up, he was quite a dangerous striker and some of his goals, however rare, were sometimes pretty spectacular.

Newcastle made a good few bob off Liverpool as I recall...he makes Chris Wood look like Ronaldo never really took to him...tbhevensteadiereddie wrote:When he was fit and fired up, he was quite a dangerous striker and some of his goals, however rare, were sometimes pretty spectacular.

I rate him, the fees he’s moved for are crazy, but I think he’ll be a good player for us.

Exactly that, none of us really rate him unless he signed for us of course and then as we all know he would fufill his World Class potentialclaptrappers_union wrote:I rate him, the fees he’s moved for are crazy, but I think he’ll be a good player for us.

Very, very good player when fit and when his head isn't stuck up his own rectum or he's battering someone. But possibly THE biggest sick note of the past 4 years making Defour look like small beer and a real bargain.

Not THE biggest. He's a 100% attender compared to Wellbeck or Sturbridge.Dark Cloud wrote:Very, very good player when fit and when his head isn't stuck up his own rectum or he's battering someone. Another one who had a career of injuries.
When he was playing at Newcastle he had huge potential.
I think most people were shocked on the crazy deadline day when he went to Liverpool but it was the injuries that took over after that.
PS: if you combined a crouch and a Barnes I think you’d get a Carroll

He has a man-bun/top-knot, so it’s a no from me

West Ham have a fascination with buying sick note specialists - Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere + they kicked it all off with Keiron Dyer a few years ago. You thought they would have learned their lesson with him.....

Who was the other Striker at West Ham, had a couple of England caps ( I think ), but then had to retire with injury at a young age ??Greeny wrote:West Ham have a fascination with buying sick note specialists - Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere + they kicked it all off with Keiron Dyer a few years ago. Dean Ashton, that's him ! Retired in December 2009, aged 26, failed to recover from an ankle injury received during training on England duty ...

Re: Andy Carroll unlikely to play for WHU again....
In his prime Crouch was a far better player all round than Carroll I think. Signing him for 35 million as Liverpool did was a ridiculous decision (was he a replacement for Suarez or Torres?). Powerful and a real menace, but his actual footballing ability on the deck is very average.
Re: Andy Carroll unlikely to play for WHU again....
I liked Carroll at his best. Superb header of the ball.
His best was never often.

He was signed with suarez to replace torres. Overall they did pretty well there.willsclarets wrote:In his prime Crouch was a far better player all round than Carroll I think.
