Re: Dreadful Performance
I actually think overall we played well.
It was the substitutions that were wrong. Bringing Crouch on for wood does absolutely nothing to change our approach though. And epitomises our creativity on and off the pitch.

Was crying out for Vydra, not Crouch.

Re: Dreadful Performance
Pushed hard 2nd half and we should really have had a penalty. But that is bad defeat for morale if anything.
9 times we have conceded in injury time; if we do go down then we deserve to with a stat like that; shocking defending again in general.

Re: Dreadful Performance
No cutting edge in attack, seemed obvious to me that Vydra needed to come on to give us a different option - Leicester were happy to let it go sideways across the pitch and then clear every poor, looping delivery that went it.

How can anyone say we played well when Schmeichel made one save?

Dyche’s changes were dismal today. We doninated the second half but were toothless up top and we got the usual predictable substitutions.

Yes. And its often harder. Especially when they make subs like fuchs for maddison. They were playing for draw hoping to nick onejoey13 wrote:You do realise were playing against 10

Re: Dreadful Performance
Played off the park by 10 man Leicester first half, and when they sat back second we had one tactic - a diagonal hoof. And when that didn’t work, we brought on a taller player to diagonally hoof it to. And to top it all off, Vydra gets given 4 minutes.

Leicester were probably hanging on for a point.
How naive of them not to go for a 2nd earlier!

Re: Dreadful Performance
Its ridiculous to say we played well. 2 shots in 90 minutes against a team who virtually started the game with 10 men.
No idea how to change things, wrong subs made far too late as usual. Hardly any width despite playing two wide players. We constantly played quite narrow in attack which played into Leicester's hands as we hardly ever stretched them.
We played well in the 1st two thirds of the field because they sat deep and hardly pressured us, however in the final third it was a different story, we were $h!t

Re: Dreadful Performance
Lacklustre performance, no urgency on the ball, no pressure on their ageing centres backs, lack of shots in difficult conditions for a game we needed something from is inexcusable.

It didnt affect their defensive shape for the worse at all. Just removed an outlet up top.
We have no automatic right to win just because theyve had a man sent off.

I thought we were excellent today, we gave a superb impersonation of a plucky League 2 side playing a PL team in a cup tie
Re: Dreadful Performance
We played reasonably well in parts. Subs wrong and we have no plan b that is much different to plan a. We lack quality in the final third. The result is dreadful though in our position against 10 men. Transfer windows coming home to roost and will be lucky to stay up.

Re: Dreadful Performance
Rubbish.
First have was just above forgiveable given that we in all square.
The second half we on started playing at 80 mins.
Too slow in possession. If punting doesn’t work, then Plan B is to bring Crouch on and punt some more.
They came here to win, we set up to avoid defeat.
Good work by McNeil today though.

I don't get this, yes plenty of games this season we have been playing hoof balls, but today most of our work came down the wings, unfortunately no one was on the end of them.ksrclaret wrote:Played off the park by 10 man Leicester first half, and when they sat back second we had one tactic - a diagonal hoof.

Re: Dreadful Performance
It was really poor today. We created nothing, the subs were wrong, the defending was brainless. We gifted Liverpool goals last week and we gifted Leicester two today. We'll go down if we continue in that vein.
Its time to get Gibson in for Tarkowski. It's time to give Vydra a proper chance. It's time to stop making exactly the same subs every bloody week regardless of how the match is playing out. At the moment this team has relegation written all over it. We might get away with it if we beat Cardiff but this squad needs serious surgery in the Summer and the manager needs to have a long hard think about his approach and the utterly predictable nature of it.

What does Dyche and Woan talk about on the side lines every week
Because they do the same thing week in week out
Wood off Crouch on
Long ball after long ball
And Dyche wonders why he never gets a big job.

Re: Dreadful Performance
I don't think it was just the substitutions but the tactics that let us down today . When they went down to 10 men , i personally thought we should of gone to 3-5-2 to dominate the midfield by removing bardsley and bringing Hendrick on . Not panicking just yet , but I'm hoping arsenal don't need a win to get in the top 4 .
Re: Dreadful Performance
Absolutely nothing will change this summer. The likes of Ben Mee, Jack Cork and Ashley Barnes are Dyche's blue eyed boys who are absolutely bombproof. The lack of opportunity given to Gibson and Vydra this season has been ridiculous.Bacchus wrote:It was really poor today. We created nothing, the subs were wrong, the defending was brainless. Re: Dreadful Performance
Leicester made defensive sub after defensive sub. Whipping balls in was never the answer, they were set up to defend it. Vydra with 20-30 to go would’ve made complete sense, get it on the floor and start picking the lock.
Dyche has to take the hit for his management today.

Agreed. But we have missed a few tricks in previous transfer windows. Looks like we'll pay the price now.

Re: Dreadful Performance
We have a team of upper championship, lower PL quality players. Having said that, surely it can't be too difficult to train them to pass each other or pass into space to a player running on to it. Our plan is sideways, sideways, sideways, hoof towards where one of our strikers might be. Our one bit of football today, passes in front of each other and then into space ended up with a goal. After that we didn't have one shot on target until Vydra's attempt in the third minute of injury time.
