Heaton 7. Couldnt do anything with goals.
Bardsley 8. Played very well forward and back crossing aside.
Tarkowski 6. Shouldnt have been the one hasing maddison around befor giving the free kick away. Passing poor too.
Mee 6. Average.
Taylor 8. See bardsley.
McNeil 7. Great goal. Some good touches.
Westwood 6 didnt have much to do but stedy away.
Cork 6. See westwood.
JBG 8 made a big difference. Ran at them. Created. What we have be3n missing. Was very shocked he came off ahead of the tiring McNeil.
Wood 5. Very poor and should have scored.
Barnes 5. Offered very little.

Dyche 4. The subs and tactics were shocking. While we were playing well we needed to try something different. Jbg coming off and wood for barnes were very very poor changes.

Heaton 5 - pinned to his line all day, cost us in the end although it was the 3rd mistake in consession. Couod he have come for it?
Taylor - 8 excellent block at 1-1 a constant threat, although did dilly Sally a bit a few times
Mee - 6 played a part in the winner
Tarky 5 terrible distribution, got the run around far too often for an "England internationa"
Bardsley 7 solid enough, and 1 delicious ball
JBG - 7 showed in the first 10 mins why he should start, as expected he faded
Cork 5 can't see what he brings at the minute
Westwood 6 ran about but nothing of note
McNeil - 7 well taken goal, got into the right areas quite often, but the wrong option taken.
Barnes 6 battled
Wood 5 nothing

Dyche 3 - AGAIN we have had a job done on us at home, where we have created very, very little.
If plan A doesn't work, it seems plan B is to continue to do the same.
Successive games where the visiting GK hasn't need to make a save.
If we are talking chances, Leicester actually had the better ones, and had 10 men for a full 90 minutes.
Sad thing 8s, I'm not shocked at the performance or result, and that's the worrying thing.

Heaton 6 hmmm
Taylor 8
Mee 6 ordinary
Tarkowski 6 ordinary
Bardsley 6 ordinary
JBG 5 lightweight
Westwood 5 not offensive enough against 10
Cork 5 poor
McNeil 6 lightweight, but tries. But why he's left on the pitch when he's knackered baffles me every bloody week.
Barnes 4 not at the races today
Off-side Wood 4

Crouch 3 I was totally gutted when we signed him, I was right to be gutted. The club have embarrassed themselves this season.
Brady I refuse to recognise him as a footballer

Wishy-washy nothingness

An absolute shambles of a performance and a game that we can’t have any complaints about losing. We made no attempt to really grab the bull by the horns and to my knowledge, we only had the one shot on target against 10 men! They seem to be a huge lack of desire on that pitch today and that seriously concerning. Pitiful performance

Tarkowski 5 (-1 for giving stupid free kick away which led to goal)
Mee 6
Taylor 8*
JBG 6
Cork 4

Crouch 6

Two stupid mistakes cost us dearly. I have no idea what Brady was thinking of with that ball before their second. Idiotic!

JBG best player in the first half out wide then clearly bizzarely told to go inside in the second half and did nothing. Vydra sould have been on after 60 minutes. 1 shot on target pathetic. Wood diabolical. Letting vokes go for Crouch looks like a big mistake. Good chance we will go down. We certainly will if we play like that for the rest of the season. Awful to watch even if we managed to get something from the game. Unacceptable when we lose against 10 men playing like that. Can't see where any points are going to come from. Need to improve and quickly.

Where was the fight? Where was the desire? Absolutely no creativity or spark to break Leicester down. The only time we played any football all afternoon, we scored and after that we resorted to the same old tactics that had been so unsuccessful prior to the goal. Shambolic performance that had relegation written all over it.

Harton 4 enough said
Bardsley 6 ok and wanted to do fight but needed better delivery
Taylor 6 would have been a 7 however he did not get out anywhere near quick enough (and he new it) to the crosser for the winner
Tarks 5 silly to get dragged out by Maddison and then into giving the foul
Mee 6 steady away
Cork 5 works hard but my god he’s awful in possession
Westwood 6 though he started well but what we need he just doesn’t have and that’s an eye for goal from centre mid
McNeil 7 mom thank god for Dwight
JBG 6 started well but needed better delivery and need him to beat a man and threatening the goal more because our strikers aren’t
Wood 4 ran the channel and held up well for the equaliser won a couple of headers in box but generally not good enough
Barnes 4 awful first half and gave the shocking pass that led to Tarks fouling Maddison, better second half but zero threat on goal)

Crouch 5 nuisance but is that enough?

Dyche arghhhhhhhh. said before and I’ll say it again our biggest strength is our biggest weakness. Same old same old, nothing remotely different

Tarkowski - 6
Mee - 5
Taylor - 7

Jbg- 7
Cork - 5
Westwood - 6
McNeil - 7

Wood - 6
Barnes - 6

The man advantage was completely overshadowed in the first half by our persistent long balls. Second half they sat back and we looked clueless trying to break them down. Not a great day.

You can only play with the hand that you’re dealt which is obviously not good enough to stay up but may get stupidly lucky because of Cardiff. Saying that Dyche, his back room staff and the management have seriously let our club slide from the miracle of last season and gone backwards and sleep walking to relegation. At any other club the manager would have been pushed but it seems SD is invincible. It’s a results business with hope of entertainment but we have neither so a change has to happen.

Heaton 3 Set the tone with a weak flap for first goal
Bardsley 5
Tarks 3 Out jumped by Morgan for goal and stupid foul for first.
Mee 5
Taylor 7 MOM which is not saying much
JBG 6 Started brightly then faded as usual
Cork 4
Westwood 5
Mc neil 6
Wood 3 Useless
Barnes 3 Useless

Crouch 3 Less than useless

Out played by 10 men. Dyche out managed again. Are we seriously expecting Crouch to be our saviour ?

Dyche needs to apologize for todays fiasco but no doubt he will say we are work in progress. WTF !!!!

Oh dear . Set up to let Leicester have possession and hit them on the break and never adapted when they went down to ten men.
Heaton. 6. In truth he had little to do.
Bardsley. 6. Defended okay but doesn't have any finesse going forward.
Tarks. 4. Awful today. Watching him and Madison in the lead up to the first goal was painful.
Meet. 6. Okay, not to blame for the second goal, Brady put him in an awful situation
Taylor. 7. Thought he did well again.
McNeil. 7. Mom. Our biggest threat.
Westwood 6. Tried to pass and create..
Cork.5. Time for Hendrick to start in central midfield
JBG. 7. Good, but faded.
Barnes. 5. Largely invisible.
Wood. 5. Offside.
Crouch. 5

Just looking at these scores, what has happened to Tarkowski these last few games? How is he in the England squad?

Heaton 4 - you just have to command at least the 3 yard line!
Taylor 7 tried to the final whistle. Should have had a pen.
Mee 7 some very good interceptions.
Tarkowski 4 fancied and gave away that silly goal, sorry fk but it was as good as.
Bardsley 6 knows what he is doing all the time.
JBG 5 slow.
Westwood 6
Cork 4
McNeil 7 bright spark
Barnes 6
Wood 5

Brady....Should be put down.

You cannot ask for a better start than them going down to 10 men after three minutes.

After that, all you have to do is not give away stupid fouls and needless defensive errors. We did, and because of that we lost.

And you need to stretch teams, to absolutely overrun them with your extra man, so they are pressurised all the time.

We completely failed to that, and Schmeichel made his first and only save in the 90th minute. So much wrong with that performance, starting with the tempo, the subs, the tactical switches and criminal mistakes at the back by Tarkowski and Mee for the goals. Ok, Leicester scored a good free kick and got a wicked deflection, but that does not disguise from how poor we were.

Manager has to get this lot firing after the international break, cos we've gone from looking a comfortable midtable side to one looking certs for relegation in the space of four games, and thats down to him and his selection and substitutions.

Heaton 5 - first one isn't right in the corner
Taylor 6 - crosses have to better
Tarks 4 - poor, gave away the free kick
Mee 4 - as above, culpable for that 2nd with a lack of concentration that do not get away with at this level
Bardsley 6 - one great cross which someone should have been on the end of
O'Neil 7 - great goal, and possibly the only one who looked a threat all game but again, crosses have to be better
Cork 5 - has to move the ball quicker
Westwood 5 - as above
JBG 6 - strange decision to take him off I think
Wood 5 - poor
Barnes 5 - poor

Subs
Crouch 5 - needed to bring on Vydra first to be honest
Brady 5 -
Vydra 5

Really worried now. That was just nowhere near good enough.

Heaton 6 no chance either goal -Correctly did NOT come for their 2nd
Taylor 7 mom some good crosses and stonewall pen shout
Mee 5 average
Tarkowski 4 poor game today and silly challenge
Bardsley 5 only player I’ve seen do a two footer when running with the ball
JBG 5 lively start faded badly
Westwood 5 didn’t give up but bit loose
Cork 4 struggled a bit
McNeil 7 touch of class but a luxury player
Barnes 5 did all he could with scraps
Wood 4 poor

Atrocious conditions and a seemingly shocking pen decision saw us struggle against a dangerous but 10 man
Leica . We’re **** but I think we’ll stay up

If you are one of the people who are on their feet clapping and laughing when the board goes up to bring Crouch on, could you please let me know why? Utterly abject performance today against 10 men. No pace, little creativity, aimless hoof-ball and terrible substitutions. What exactly has to happen for Vydra or Gibson to get a game?

Heaton 6
Taylor 6
Mee 4
Tarkowski 3
Bardsley 4
JBG 5

We played ok second half but again the final ball was terrible.

We dominated against Palace, dominated second half today, and neither Henderson or Schmeichel have had a thing to do.
Another game we didn't get beat, so much as gifted it to the opposition.
We need to grow up because its naivety in possession, and panic in defence that could cost us our place in the league.
Pathetic.

I was at the game today but had a worm's eye view in the disabled section and took a thorough soaking for good measure. Really can't judge individual performances from that vantage point. Can't wait for the new covered area for our disabled supporters.

UTC!

Cricketfieldcasual , to say Westwood and Cork had very little to do is the strangest comment I have ever seen regarding midfield players.

Did you mean to say they did very little

Heaton 6 not much to do
Bardsley 6 whole hearted but can’t cross a ball
Taylor 7 left side looks our only joy
Tarkowski 4 poor once he starts off badly you know what is to come
Mee 5 average
Westwood 5 as above
Cork 3 woeful
JBG 3 as above
McNeil 8 the only bright spark we are relying on a 19 year old to offer any creative spark
Wood 3 woeful
Barnes 3 as above

A desperate and woeful performance that had relegation written all over it. We just have to hope Cardiff are worse than us. Either way this squad needs major surgery over the summer whatever league we are in.

We just lost, at home, playing against 10 men for 85 minutes, with the opposition keeper having to make 1 save. We didn't batter them, We didn't "dominate", we played the game where they wanted us to play it, in the manner they wanted us to play it. The score didn't flatter them. In short, We were shte. How anyone can be scored anything above "Below Par" is beyond me. So that's how I scored it.

Terrible day weather wise and one hell of a damp squib on it.
Heaton 6- not at fault for either joal but not as assured than the 8 match run.
Bardsley 6- strong and tenacious got forward well at times.
Tarkowski 4- poor on first goal and still careless at times when in possession.
Mee 5- steady and in my view not at fault for second. You don't expect a pass to put you under pressure.
Taylor 6- unlucky when blocking cross for second and maybe unfortunate for not getting a penalty.
Cork 3- did he play.
Westwood 6- tried to get about midfield but sometimes quality of crossing and final ball not totally up to scratch.
Gudmondson 5- crossing could have been better
McNeil 6- tired as game went on but scored with good finish and carried on from last week's second half.
Barnes 5- needs better service than balls constantly being lumped up to him
Wood 3- he is either a threat or abysmal today he was abysmal. No awareness of defensive line sometimes looks lethargic and misses gilt edge chances.
Crouch 5- not his fault he is here at the age of 38.
Brady 3- we need more positivity like bursting a gut to attack and provide good crosses, something we haven't seen from him in his appearances also what was he thinking putting your centre half under pressure when he should have taken the responsibility himself.
Vydra n/a- it must be hard not getting much time but should have done better with late one on one

Heaton : 6 - good header at the end !
Bardsley : 6 - thought he had a good second half and showed some real fight. Not his fault that JBG took the easy option by giving him the ball back.
Tarks : 3 - awful. How the hell he got picked for England with the way he has been playing I ain’t got a clue. Stupid free kick when Maddison had 4 or 5 players around him and was going nowhere. Passing again terrible and whilst he may be under instruction to lump the ball up I would expect a supposed England player to take it upon himself that lumping up was the wrong thing to do and bringing the ball out or passing it to Westwood on the floor was a much more sensible tactic.
Mee : 3 - same as Tarks other than he does not have the ability to bring the ball out but he does have the ability to pass it 10 yards on the floor to a player who can pass a ball a lot lot better than he can.
Taylor : 6 - played well again. Not a great first half but second half his driving runs and much better crossing than usual were excellent.
Cork : 4 - i’m giving him an extra mark for rollicking Mee for lumping it up. However he was poor and today when most of the times the extra man was in the centre of the park we needed him to be better. Unfortunately he has lost something in his game this year.
Westwood : 6 - not everything went right for him but when he was on the ball he showed the most quality of all our players and if anyone was going to make the extra man pay it was going to be him.
JBG : 4 - started brightly but I was so frustrated with his second half performance. Repeatedly he turned back and took the easy option by giving it to Bardsley. I know we had the extra man but it’s up to the likes of JBG to make things happen and get to the bi-line. It’s incredible that against 10 men that he failed to get to the bi-line once in the second half.
McNeil : 7 - good goal and also nearly scored a second which was all of his own making. He made a few mistakes aswell and he has played a lot better but i’m scoring him 7 and MoM because for someone so young he is showing up a lot of the rest of the team with his quality and bravery to be positive and try and make things happen.
Wood : 3 - truly awful. When he plays like this he needs a rocket up his arse. No excuse for being offside in the manner he was today. Purely down to laziness and lack of concentration - both inexcusable.
Barnes : 4 - not much came off for him...but I am pretty sure that on a day like today against 10 men and in those conditions he was also crying out for the ball to his feet. He has the quality of touch to help take advantage of the extra man but how many times did we even try and use him like this ?

Subs
Crouch : 4 - won the ball a few times in the air but his legs have now gone and this is not what we needed today (but that’s not his fault)
Brady : minus 12.....a liability.

Whichever way you sum it, that's a damaging and deeply troubling afternoon.

Heaton - 6 - thought the first goal was just a good strike, but thought he should have intervened for the second and he didn't have much else to do.

Bardsley - 5 - solid defensively but we needed far, far more going forwards.

Taylor - 7 - lacked a bit of finesse at times but was a willing outlet down the left and his crossing was better than anyone else's. but should have stopped the cross for the winner.

Tarkowski - 5 - clumsy for the first goal, out killed for the second and struggled with Vardy on other occasions too.

Mee - 7 - better than tarkowski and at least tried to to the right thing.

Cork - 6 - it was his lovely ball that set JBG away early on, and generally he was steady enough, but he should have scored early in the second half and we obviously needed more creativity.

Westwood - 5 - tidy enough but lacked composure at times in the final third.

JBG - 6 - started well but faded and was pretty well marshalled by Chilwell, but it was still a surprise when he was withdrawn.

McNeil - 7 - smart finish, unlucky not to add a second from range in the second half, and a few other classy interventions, but he knew himself that his crossing was well short of the standards he's set himself.

Barnes - 4 - A nuisance but that was about it, and it was a huge surprise that he lasted the 90.

Wood - 5 - in and out of the game, held the back tidily at times but offside too much and unable to stretch the Leicester defence.

Crouch - 5 - as nuisance value he was marginally more effective than Barnes but even then he wasn't able to make the most of a coupling of promising moments.

Brady - 5 - he knows himself he cocked up to give the fatal corner away with a brain fart, but in fairness he was trying to find a way to clear without giving away possession and it really summed up the scrambled thinking of the whole team.

Vydra - incomprehensibly, not on long enough. We saw in his first 90 seconds on the pitch the benefit of an extra yard of pace.

Once the sending off changed the shape of the game early on, this game settled into an unsatisfactory pattern which we've come to know in recent years when Dyche's Burnley have been forced to try and break down a stubborn rearguard in both league and cup games. We had plenty of the ball, but showed insufficient flair, wit or imagination do use it incisively whilst occasionally being suckered into over committing and leaving ourselves short defensively. Of course the impact of the weather cannot be underestimated - it made any sort of constructive football in tight spaces difficult - but not for the first time recently, our crossing was poor and we lacked the mobility and craft to commit defenders and get behind Leicester's well drilled rearguard.

It's easy to blame the players for that, but personally my frustration lies more with thee manager. Vydra was signed to help us overcome precisely that sort of challenge by adding a more nimble, tricky attacking option in a 442. It seemed obvious that he should be introduced early in the second half for the ineffective Barnes or alternatively Wood (their partnership has been noticeably less effective in the last 3/4 games against physical, well drilled centre backs who know what to expect) in order to help us go round rather than through the Leicester rearguard.

Alternatively Lowton might have replaced Bardsley to improve the quality of our passing and crossing from right back, or Hendrick might have come on in midfield to offer a more attacking option than either Cork or Westwood. That instead Crouch was the first man summoned was depressing and a bit of a damning indictment - especially as it didn't work. Leicester's late winner might have been harsh but it was always a potential consequence of our unimaginative approach to breaking them down.

Wolves will come with a similar game plan, so a rethink is required pronto before then.

Heaton 5 - rooted to his line a bit and made no saves of significance
Bardsley 7 - crossing the only weakness
Tarkowski 3 - looked terrified of the wind and rain, the poor soul. First foul totally needless, we were about to win the ball.
Mee 6 - solid mainly but panicked for the winner
Taylor 8 - an assist and outstanding performance, though the goal came from his flank yet again
JBG 5 - brilliance for the sending off then faded
Westwood 4 - we never used our extra man to help him out, had too little time on the ball unless heading backwards
Cork 4 - very poor currently, his performances are crucial to us
McNeil 8 - probing, looking to go forward, terrific goal
Barnes 3 - how he lasted 93 minutes is the “whodunnit” of the century, he is still in Evans’ pocket
Wood 3 - at least he gave the linesman’s right arm some exercise

Crouch 7 - I thought he caused chaos at times and won some crucial headers, could have had an assist or two and a penalty

A very annoying performance because we were handed the game on a plate, it could have been the trigger for our safety, but we contrived to throw it away, with a bit of help from Oliver. The penalty and the world class save from Schmeical were crucial because if ahead against 10 men I suspect we would have won.

While Oliver has to be criticised and Leicester praised for their clinical play, we have to be very critical of Dyche and the players. Today was crying out for fast passing, switching the play (we did it once in a fast way and lo and behold scored) and variation of tactics. Losing McGuire was massive because it meant they no longer had top players in every position - the ageing Morgan should have been exposed with pace, but we never ran at him. Vydra looks good when used, so it is baffling why Dyche doesn’t do it. I suspect it is fear. He fears the small players will get dominated but is blind to the big lads being owned by their defenders. Vydra and Crouch should have come on together on 60 minutes.

When we went down last time we did it with Trippier and Ings in the side. 4 years later and Dyche still hasn’t adequately replaced them. If they had played today (their 2015 versions) we would have won, instead we had poor crosses and ponderous forward play. The transfer market chickens are coming home to roost.
