No One Likes Us We Dont Care (Millwall)
Just watching Millwall v Brighton and its ringing round the den.
But why oh why do we sing it ? Its embarrasing its Millwalls song. Who actually doesnt like us except for Blackburn ? We are pretty irrelevant to most teams.
When did we start singing it ? My guess is around 2000/2001 when we had a huge hooligan following.
Its cringey that we copy the song of a team that actually have the right to sing it.

I recall a survey conducted in the 1990s where supporters were asked to name who they consider to be their rival team - Burnley was named more than any other team.

Late 70’s maybe earlier . Burnley have always been a team people don’t like ( not quite Millwall territory but still) I always think that gives us an edge as we’re very different to youre corporate plastic rubbish of so may clubs .
Ps BFC never had a “ huge hooligan following “ they did have a “ very dedicated “ hardcore one though with plenty of hangers on for the big games

The Inbetweeners without a doubt don't like us. I can provide proof of that.

Going on away games in the 4th division nearly always meant being greeted with 'We Hate Burnley and we hate Burnley. We are the Burnley haters' being sung.

I don't know about it being as early as the late 70's, but it definitely goes back to the mid to late 80's.
And being a relatively big fish in a small pond, no one did like us, including the police.

Stockport don't either. Or Rochdale. ....so maybe the song does actually fit, whether it's ours or not

Re: No One Likes Us We Dont Care (Millwall)
Burnley have sung that song since the early 80’s at least. Circa 40 years is a decent enough time to say it’s also one of ours. Yes, Millwall’s song but so what, fans nick songs. We weren’t well liked in the 80’s by “smaller” clubs.
We started the No Nay never song in the early 70’s, and Blackburn nicked it and changed the words slightly 4-5 years later. In truth it’s an Irish folk song which was in use far early than when we began using it. “We are the greatest team, the world has ever seen”...as sung by 3/4 of clubs.
Liverpool recently brought “Allez Allez Allez” to these shores, which was actually a Napoli/Atletico Madrid song, but it’s Liverpool's over here. We nicked it and then so have 25 other clubs now.
You’ll never walk alone was first sung at Old Trafford, being nicked from the R&H musical. Loads of clubs used to sing it including Burnley for years. Liverpool did the best version and stuck with it, whilst other teams stopped.
It’s what fans do, nick good ideas by others.
