De Gea.....has he been got at?

Post by IanMcL » Tue Apr 16, 2019 8:24 pm

I thought he should have got the first one. The second....smells.

Not watching the game but I don’t think Barcelona need to get at anyone to progress into the next round against this Man Utd side.

No chance with the first. Second, bad mistake.

Isn't he supposedly being targeted by Real?
He's hardly going to endear himself to them by letting their fiercest rivals win.

And at Juve. When Ronaldo scored an Ajax defender went down. At first glance it looked like Bonnucci pushed him. On review it was a teammate. Goal stood.

Guardians match report - not too kind on Uniteds back five.

De Gea is so overrated it's untrue.

He's made far more howlers in his career than Joe Hart ever did.

Just look how the media portray both though.

Are you implying that Hart is better than De Gea?

Looking back I would say Hart has had the better career with far less howlers.

Yeah I've watched both throughout their careers in England and for their national teams.

Every time De Gea makes a routine save the media make out it's world class.

They have both been good goalkeepers but one gets touted as the greatest ever and one awful, who's mocked regular.

We have gone from McNeil getting too much praise as he has done little so far, nobody big club has bid 30m+ for him and he had a low rating on FIFA to Hart has had a better career than De Gea

I know United are trying to play a completely different way to what we do but I must have got used to seeing a team who are disciplined in shape as at times, it was very obvious that there focus was on attacking and defensive shape was non existent.

Will be a learn for OGS, I'm sure...

To beat Barca, you need your best players playing well. It wasn't just the back 5 that should have been slated - they were all very poor.

All keepers like outfield players have a mistake in them. De Gea has been United's player of the season for 4 out of the last 5 seasons. I think that says all you need to know.

I realise it's about opinion but here's a little fact.

Joe Hart has won the Golden glove joint most times with 4.

In all fairness little between the pair of them at their peak ( DG still more to come though ) one thing though is that Hart was never a “ howler “ keeper though DG throws the occasional screamer in . The pressure modern keepers are under is simply staggering with the whole footwork thing / receiving dangerous back passes and genuine unpredictability of the modern ultra light balls ( especially at speed ) to add to their general keeping duties . Most outfielders make at least a few minor errors in a game / poor tackles / lose possession / poor pass/ ballooned shot/ poor free kick etc etc and it’s almost invisible yet should a GK have a couple of “ moments “ even without conceding he’s “ ****”

What's your point? City have had a better defence than United for a good number of years now. If De Gea had been GK at City they'd have conceded even less. Riyad Mahrez has won the PFA Player of the Year more times than Aguero. Does that mean he's had a better career and is a better play than Aguero? Also, will De Gea be playing at a club of our size in three years time? I doubt it.
