Warriors vs Saints

Post by Funkydrummer » Fri Apr 19, 2019 6:10 am

Going over later today for what should be a good afternoon's entertainment.

Hoping for a Warriors win, but not too sure of success.

Anyone else going ?

I'll be driving passed around lunch time. However I'll not be going. Probably catch the last 30 minutes on TV. This season was always going to be transitional for the Warriors, but I don't think anyone could have predicted how poor it would pan out. Don't think the 2 point penalty helped on the eve of the new season. Factor in all the other off field drama's. The Warriors are still too reliant on Sean O'Loughlan. Great as he is he's 36 and when he's not playing their like a rudderless ship. Today reminds me somewhat of a similar situation back in the early noughties. That day, think it was 2003 ish, they fielded a very young side against a very strong Saints side and beat them against all the odds. Let's hope for the same today, although I'm not holding my breath. It will also be an emotional day, being the voice of Rugby Leagues last game. Eddie Hemmings, has been a top, top commentator and broadcaster for decades and he will be sorely missed. Have a happy retirement Eddie.

Echo the sentiments re Eddie. Brilliant commentator.

Saints win though.

Warriors always raise their game against saints though.

This is what I love about rugby league.

Wigan look dead and buried.

All of a sudden poor high kick by saints, Wigan counter and score under posts.

Should be 18-10 after conversion.

Off out . Hoping saints can dominate 2nd period

A very one-sided 2nd half, Wigan were not at the races and are looking a poor team at present, Saints very impressive.

Gutted I missed the 2nd half.

36-10 is a fair old beating

4 pt clear at the top.

Wigan to be relegated this year ??
