Lowton or Bardsley on Sunday?

Post by karatekid » Fri Apr 26, 2019 11:28 am

Phil Bardsley is fit and available for Sunday. Should he replace Lowton?

IMO Bardsley should start as he will provide extra bite in a defence that will undoubtedly be under a lot of pressure and I think he has done well this season at RB.

Lowton for this one, cos he's faster and we'll need that to keep up with their forwards.

I'm not sure even Lowton will be able to keep up with Sterling and Aguerrrrooooooo.

Lowton... simply on the fact he hasn't done anything wrong.

He got the run around at times against Hazard, especially when he was turned inside and out for their goal... however I'm not sure any defender could have done better than Lowton, never mind Bardsley. He did well to stay on his feet for that long haha.

Either of them will be up against Sane, which could be our weak area of the pitch. I don't envy that job much

A fantastic result at Chelksi do why change the team!

You know Dyche won’t change it don’t you?

Lowton is a much better player than Bardsley

Lowton....Dyche won't change anything from the Chelsea game, unless someone has picked up an injury, you should know the Dyche script by now.....Same again.

Bardsley would have walked in the first half if he had played against Hazard at Chelsea.

Both of 'em! One to mark each of Sane's feet.

Not a chance of Dyche changing a team that has been doing well. Lowton has played well anyway so should keep his place.

I think Sane will start as will Lowton.

Sane has had some joy against Lowton but on the converse side Lowts has wound him up previously, you may remember Sane's wild hack at the Etihad when he should have had an early bath.

Lowton, definitely, he played well on Monday as did all the lads, hes a bit quicker than Bards and is less likely to get booked or red carded, Bards has been good when he has played but its Lowton for me.

Lowton, for three reasons:

1. He's playing well since he came back into the side and doesn't deserve to be dropped.
2. When he's playing well (as he is) he's a more rounded and better player overall than Bardsley.
3. Given his age, he's a more important player for us in the long term than Bardsley.

Bardsley for me. We missed Bardsley 1st half at Chelsea, he is a far better defender than Lowton

We’re lucky to have two good RFBs. Lowton for me if only not to change the side after such an impressive show.

Bardsley. He is very experienced and would hopefully rattle a few cages.

The future? The question refers to Sundays match. In any case we need an upgrade on Lowton.

I think we should play both and just put Lowtsley on the team sheet. No one will notice!

I would go bardsley with lowts to take over on 75 mins when he gets sent off , we all know lowts is possibly the better all rounder but bards gets stuck in raising the the tempo and that's what we need to get anything sgainst the oil people team

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. We might need younger competition for his place, but he's still the right back who was virtually ever present as we finished 7th.

Lowton or Bardsley?....I've seen some excuses for creating a thread, but this is taking the p1ss.
As if it's going to be anything other than;
Heaton
Lowton, Tarkowski Mee Taylor
Hendrick Cork Westwood McNeill
Barnes, Wood

Fair play to Bardsley though and his performances this season, I don’t know if he has been working harder or training better but this time last year I hoped we could get rid of him.

Now we are back to 2 solid Right Backs who both deserve to play.

Personally I think Bardy is more suited to the sort of game we are expecting. However Lowton will start and I have no problems with that.

I think you have to stick with the same time so Lowton, although RB is a place I would like to strengthen in the Summer as our left side is so strong now with Taylor/McNeil

The size of Bardsley's scar might frighten Sane away from going anywhere near him.
