A weak spineless $hit of a man who was constantly bullied by Citehs players. Dreadful and not worthy of any marks at all

His finest moment was telling Agüero to hurry up, following by them fist bumping, and Agüero walking off slower than he started.
Grade A wetwipe.

Tom got told to get on with it 40 mins in.
Man City players allowed all the time in the world once in front.
Didn't want the title to be decided on his head so he took the safe option.
Burnley are safe, let's let city decide the rules type display from him.
But it's Tierney, he isn't the best... or even in the better bracket

He was more concerned with making sure Burnley players didn't steal 2cm from a throw in than he was when letting Citeh consistently steal 5 to 10 yards virtually every free kick

Bottled his only big decision by denying City a clear Penalty. Was fine apart from that though with the game played in only one half of the pitch was an easy game to ref

The game was controlled by the City players not the referee. They whinged and complained about every single decision that went against them, especially Sterling. Two minutes of the added time of four minutes were wasted with a City substitution and a City 'injury' yet Tierney only added an extra 1 minutes 19 seconds. He also allowed a City player to stand at least a yard in front of his white line for a Burnley free-kick. Weak and incompetent. Sterling could/should have had 2 yellow cards. City were lucky that goal line technology gave them the points, the referee or his assistant had no idea if the ball had crossed the line.

He was shite. So were his assistants. Especially that weird looking one, who looked like he had been injecting himself with estrogen. I only remember him raising his flag once

How did Zichenko (sp) not get booked for his outburst at the linesman. Utterly pathetic

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Manchester City
Without going into the performance, second half injury time probably neatly encapsulates the performance. 4 minutes given, followed by City making a sub (30 seconds, although it actually took more because of the time it took Sterling to get off the pitch), and then another full minute and a half for an injury to Silva and some timing wasting (booking given).
So - 96 minutes to be played, right? Absolutely not Tierney blew up at 95 minutes and 10 seconds.
Compare, of course, to the time added on - to the second - at Chelsea on Monday, when the board went up for 6 and we played 8.

Nine times out of ten a Burnley player would have been booked for the Sterling tackle.
Zinchenko giving it the full Ashley Barnes and getting away with it.
City should have had a penalty.
Fist bump - really?
Injury time.
He's not very good.

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Manchester City
Referee and Linesmen performed as expected of them when it's the current champions v a safe bottom 10 team in a potentially title deciding game, no big surprise there really.
I'll give him 10 in each category for at least making it look like he was trying to be impartial by granting us the odd free kick now and again.

What a load of rubbish this thread has become. If we win they are great, if we lose they should never referee again. He was fine, no better nor worse than any of the others, Who are all sub-standard to Europes best.

That statement is rubbish. If you could look back over all the Rate the Refs since it was started by jdrobbo you would find that many times a ref has been highly rated after a Burnley loss and, conversely, rated very low after a Burnley win.Tricky Trevor wrote:What a load of rubbish this thread has become. It's not often that I agree with spades (in public) but she is spot on.spadesclaret wrote:That statement is rubbish. I will rate him today 10, 12, 10, 15.
He could probably be a decent ref at a lower level but was bullied today. At one point Kompany and three or four other players surrounded him and he did nothing. As my mate sat next to me today said perhaps that's where the millions come into it? He seemed scared of them.

Re: RATE THE REF - Paul Tierney v Manchester City
Tierney continued to face away listening to Sterling ranting in his ear whilst the game was actually being played - I don't think I've EVER seen that behaviour before. Absolute farce over the substitution with Sterling pretending to make his way off the field at snails pace and then a different player actually wandered off - so time wasting was not taken into account.

A. 15
B. 10
C. 20
D. 10 He only controlled one side.
