a draw or a win?

Post by Paul Waine » Tue Jan 29, 2019 11:41 pm

No not tonight's game.

Soton v Palace tomorrow night, both 1 point behind the Clarets.

A draw puts both teams ahead of Burnley on goal difference - and the Clarets in 17th, 4 points ahead of Cardiff.

Or, which side would we prefer to win and go 2 ahead of us, with the other 1 point behind?

We've still got 14 games to play. Stats say the draw is best for us, both teams drop 2 points - and 1 point is lost forever.

And, then it is Soton on Saturday.

A draw please but then we must concentrate on the next two league games of our own. Big BIG games coming up!

Definitely a draw. Palace certainly good enough to kick on and get some points, Saints are resurgent. A nervy 0-0 would be best outcome.

Can we have match abandoned because both teams had more than 4 players sent off?

A draw means only two points are shared out.

Draw personally. Something really dull and depressing with neither side building any momentum.

Worst case scenario for me would be a Southampton win going into the weekend. Sadly I’d also say it’s the most likely outcome.

A draw and suspensions for both sides. However, I can see Soton and Palace getting out of it simply because they'll bag a few wins through penalties. Us or Cardiff for the drop for me. And it might be both if Fulham replicate what they managed last night.

I don't think it really matters.

Have you not been watching our games recently?

You do realise we have got eleven points from the last five matches, which have included Watford, West Ham & Man United. What makes you think we'll struggle to stay clear of the drop?

Also, have you seen how close we are to Brighton in the table?

As for Fulham, obviously it might have escaped you that they have only got two points away from home all season.

Want Palace to win as it puts Southampton on a bit of a downer for Saturday

Dodgy win for Soton with a couple of their players picking up niggles and missing Saturday.

Whatever, I suspect Soton won't fancy it too much at the weekend. Playing today; no training tomorrow; flying up Friday (I guess?); playing Sat afternoon in the frozen north; less need to win (if they bet Palace).

This.
The way we're playing, we'll be fine from our own efforts.

Relax. 8-)

Hopefully we should be fine as long as we stay fit and don'y lose any more through injuries.
A couple of injuries to key players (and losses) could set us back.

Important we get results against Southampton, Palace and in particular Cardiff at home
as well as Brighton and Newcastle away.

A draw would probably be ideal but if anyone has to win then a big win for Palace to destroy Saints GD would be best especially if we can get a decent win against them on Saturday. That could then potentially put us 4 points ahead of them with a better GD and 7 points from the drop zone.

Palace winning... That's my preference also.
