Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
My frustration doesn't just stand at the fact Leeds have lost their main forward, it stands at the fact that once again we have been the victim of our own success. We have lost another key player to a team no bigger than ours for the simple fact they are currently (but not for long) in a place that we should be in.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
Hahahaha they really are funny.
Leeds bigger than Burnley? One more title and the same fa cups from one of the biggest cities in the uk and the biggest one city club in the world.
Both us and Huddersfield have as good a history than them.
The only thing they have more history than us is recent history outside the top two divisions.
Their stadium is nearly as big as our town. Yet theyve won next to nothing.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
We feel their pain. Fancy losing two of your better players and not having the nous or resources to do anything about it. That's gotta hurt.
Nah, do we hell.
The Leeds lads and lasses need to question how come they've underachieved for so long ?
The answer's pretty simple; a poorly-run club with a succession of clueless managers.
Still, it's much easier to blame individual players who feel they need to move away from the club's current stagnation to a new challenge.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
Given the size of the City, Weeds should be alongside the Chelskis, Manures and Citehs.
Bad management leaves them STILL in the Championship, losing their main players to so-called "lesser" Clubs.
Their best response??
"F*** you Chris Wood. We will pass you at the end of the season and until then, enjoy spending your time with a balding ginger and a left back that couldn't wipe the muck off Berardi's boots"
We all hate Leeds and Leeds...

There are only 3 massive clubs in England
Man United & Liverpool for League Titles
Arsenal for FA cup wins
The only 3 teams to win FA cup and League titles combined more than 20 times.
Villa, Everton and Chelsea probably next depending on how much you rate each domestic honour.
Sheffield Wednesday & Huddersfield being the Best of Yorkshire.

Leeds essentially Successful in late 1960s and early 1970s and briefly when they had Cantona.
Like Huddersfield were successful in the 1920s
Possibly 10 to 15 years of greatness each with another 90 odd years of mediocrity.
We've possibly had the same but more spread out over the years.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
Deluded bitter fans and a poorly run club. For the younger generation it's known more for being poorly run and unsuccessful. Was once successful like many clubs.

I hope Wood is a roaring success for Burnley, I really do. If he isn't, I can comfort myself with the fact that little old Burnley have taken MASSIVE Leeds 2 best players this summer, making them much weaker.

Robbie Blake
Ade Akinbiyi
Richard Chaplow
Kyle Lafferty
Andy Gray
Jason Shackell
Jay Rodriguez
Charlie Austin
Danny Ings
Michael Keane
Andre Gray
A list of influentual players Burnley have lost to other clubs in the last decade or so. All left for different reasons, some wanted a bigger challenge, some were sold to balance the books, some for profit, some unexpectedly. But I do t think there's ever been player who would get that sort of article written about them.
Owen Coyle is the closest, but he made his own problems by convincing the club and its fans about building a legacy, following an ethos and becoming the clubs figurehead.

Fair play to Leeds formed 98 years ago and they've spent 50 seasons in the top flight.
Interesting that since Leeds United were formed Arsenal have not been relegated from The Top Flight.

Leeds are 16th on the list of English teams by major honours won and 25th on the list of most Seasons in the top flight.
21st on list of record home attendance.
Not really a massive club by any definition.

Re: Bitter Bitter Leeds....LMFAO
Very poorly supported. Extremely poorly supported for a single club city, the fourth biggest in England. They have a two tier stand that only opens the top tier when someone big comes to town. If they were THAT well supported, that stand would be open, and bellend road would be a sell out for every home game. It isn't for one reason... they are spectacularly poorly supported.
At the moment.
Should they get promoted (god forbid the classless lot ever do, but I suppose there's nothing happening there right now that suggests they are ready) they may actually open the top tier, but who will those fans be there to see?? If it was leeds, they would be there now surely?
I hate Leeds. Their fans are classless, clueless, and without honour.
My hatred for bastards I was born with. My hatred of Leeds has been cultivated over many years of their thuggery and bullying. Even sadder when those thugs and bullies could actually play a bit.

In comparison
Blackburn Rovers are 12th on the list of English clubs by major honours
13th by Seasons in top flight
And 17th by record home attendance.
Definitely a middle to bottom half top flight team
I know a lot of your FA cup wins came a long time ago.
But a significantly bigger team than Leeds who are probably a top end Championship team or relegation zone Premier League Team based on overall team history.

Just for clarification.
Burnley
19th by Major Trophies
23rd by Seasons in top flight
24th by record home attendance.
On a par with Leeds - probably a yo-yo club based on overall history.

You've got to include trophies and number of years in the top flight - look at Brighton now spending an astonishing 5th Season in the top flight and having won an outstanding one Major Trophy in their history (The equivalent of The Charity Shield) - They could fill a 40,000 seat stadium I have no doubt but you'd be having a laugh if you said they were a massive club.

Just to bore you further.
Wednesday
14th by Major Trophies - below Blackburn but above Leeds and Burnley.
14th by Seasons in the top flight - again below Rovers but above Burnley and Leeds
10th by record home attendance (72,000) way above the other 3.
