Wycombe Fan

Post by claretburns » Wed Jan 29, 2020 8:01 pm

Last night's game between Wycombe and Blackpool was delayed for an hour due to a fan becoming ill and an air ambulance having to land on the pitch. Today it has been announced that 62 year old Wycombe fan Mark Bird sadly passed away, no one should ever go to a game and not come home RIP.

Terribly sad news. I watched paramedics trying to save the life of a Sheff Utd fan at the FA Cup replay 1992 in front of the away end. Sadly he didn't make it and died that evening. RIP

Remember that well I was only about seven too. Think there was quite a bit of trouble that night and sure some abuse was directed at him if not worse.

Sad to see on both

I was checking scores last night and couldn’t work out why the Wycombe game was so far behind. Very sad news.

I was in the CF stand that night towards the away fans so it was right in front of me. The trouble that night followed Adrian Littlejohn scoring and running the length of the Longside gesturing at the fans.

Aye, little kid next to us was accidentally pushed over and broke his arm, all from that surge caused by Littlejohn.

Heard about this last night. Sad to hear this news as I was thinking about the game earlier on in the day. Very sad news.

That's said for folk who die of violence at the footy, not for someone who became ill.

Anyway, does anyone remember when we played Wycombe at t'Turf when the Longside was demolished and we were all crammed into the Bee Hole?

They had about 300/500 in the Cricketfield and were the noisiest bunch I've ever heard on t'Turf for the numbers.

I think it ended 2-2.

" no one should ever go to a game and not come home RIP." ???

Well maybe not no but it's not like he died being smashed in the head by a deranged oppo fan. He'd have died somewhere else. He might have liked going out at the ground with a win!
