1516 burnley khius metz 00 630x420Striker Khius Metz has become the latest young Burnley player to go out on loan with a move to Altrincham who play in the National League North.

Khius, just 18, ended his two year scholarship with the youth team last season and has now been given this opportunity to go and play some first team football. Writing on their club’s website, John Edwards, the Altrincham Press and Media Officer, said: “Neil Young (manager) has added blistering pace to his attacking options by signing teenage Burnley striker Khius Mets on loan.

“Burnley bosses sanctioned his loan move to Alty after feeling he would benefit from game time at a more senior level, and he goes straight into Alty manager Young’s squad for Tuesday night’s Vanarama National League North game against FC Halifax Town at The Shay.”

Clarets’ development squad coach Michael Jolley said: “His biggest strength is obviously his incredible pace, and he has already played international football for his age group, which is another feather in his cap and can only aid his development. We feel he still has a lot of potential to improve, and more regular game time will help him do that.”

There’s no detail of the length of the loan but the National League North might not be under the same restrictions as the Premier and Football Leagues and so it might be the case that Khius hasn’t gone until January.

EDIT: The loan has now been confirmed as a half season work experience loan until January.
