no place like homeWe’ve recently featured a couple of Burnley books on Up the Clarets, but we mustn’t forget a third from Peter Haworth that was the third in his series of Premier League diaries.

Peter decided to put pen to paper to chart our 2009/10 season in the Premier League, probably believing that would be his one and only book on the subject of Burnley being back in the top flight, but having written again about 2014/15, has now been able to write about our third Premier League season and one in which we weren’t relegated.

The book, which was published earlier this season, is entitled There’s No Place Like Home and is Peter’s account of a sometimes exciting, sometimes disappointed and frustrating, but always compelling season and he’s interspersed it with his other passion of walking in his beloved north country.

The author had the privilege of seeing his first Burnley game during the momentous 1959/60 season and was hooked, in the same way as so many of us, immediately.

He admits to being amazed and delighted that he’s been able to continue this series of books and hopes to still be writing them for many years to come.

The book, priced at £12 is available from Amazon and from Burnley Memorabilia in the Market Hall. It can also be purchased in digital form on Kindle at £5.50. This is an excellent book to add to the Burnley FC collection.
