Off to Tod for the beer
West Yorkshire Clarets are making their annual trip to Todmorden this week for their September meeting, the closest to Burnley they come each year for their monthly meetings.
It is always September and it is always the occasion of the Todmorden Beer Festival which takes place at Centre Vale the home of Todmorden Cricket Club.
The festival which features thirty cask ales and ten farmhouse ciders runs from Thursday to Saturday with West Yorkshire Clarets making their visit on Thursday from around 7 p.m. although the festival does open ninety minutes before that.
There is an admission charge, although Camra members are admitted free of charge, and so West Yorkshire Clarets, who have sponsored one of the beers, will not be collecting subs on this occasion.
Burnley supporters in the Todmorden area are welcome to join them, if you let them know you are going they will look out for you.
For those members travelling from Leeds, there is a frequent rail service with the cricket club just a few minutes walk from the station.
