Sahil Suhaimi is a striker with Singapore club Tampines Rovers but is set to join the Clarets’ development squad on trial until the end of the season.

In an official press release from the club, the 24-year-old will join us on a player training experience which follows a visit to Singapore by Burnley FC Director of Commercial Affairs Anthony Fairclough.

Fairclough said: “This is a first for the club and is a great opportunity for both parties. One billion households watch the Premier League (EPL) and over 50% and over of those come from Asia.

“During a recent visit to Singapore, I saw that football is a major interest, and moreover the EPL and the player experience is not only to raise the club’s profile over there, but further strengthen our relationships.

“We welcome Sahil to the club and hope that his experience here is productive for his career and that he can have a snapshot of the Premier League and see it from a very different perspective.”

His club have confirmed they will be covering his expenses while their chairman Krhisna Ramachandra will support the player’s daily expenses.
