Tom Heaton has won two caps for England. He made his debut as a late substitute in a pre-Euros friendly against Australia at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in May of last year and more recently played the second half of a Wembley friendly against Spain.

But, he will be in the starting line up for the first time when England play France in Paris tomorrow night. Coach Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Tom will start the first half with Stoke’s Jack Butland to feature after the break.

Following on from the two caps won by Michael Keane, Heaton will become the second Burnley player to start for England in what has been a superb weekend with four players in the Ireland team, including Kevin Long winning his first competitive cap, Sam Vokes making it fifty caps for Wales and Johann Berg Gudmundsson playing in Iceland’s big win against Croatia.
