James Tarkowski seems unlikely to be ready for tomorrow night’s League Cup tie against Manchester City tomorrow with manager Sean Dyche claiming he is touch and go while adding that there is a chance of him being able to play on Saturday at Newcastle.

Supporters will have seen some of our previously injured players back in training through some footage on Sky Sports News but the manager did dampen the hopes of quick returns. He said that both Ben Mee and Jόhann Berg Guðmundsson, although involved in the warm up, were still not ready to join in with full training.

He added that Jay Rodriguez is still not on the grass and would be unlikely to be fit for Newcastle although he said that Ashley Barnes had come through the two under-23 games while Robbie Brady is training but still suffering from pain with his rib problem.
