Thomas scores in dev squad win

The development squad have won a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon, beating Fleetwood 1-0 at Gawthorpe.

Josh Ginnelly and Ntumba Massanka, two of the players returning from loans were in the side but it was Jamie Thomas (pictured), who himself was out on loan at Ayr earlier in the season, who scored the only goal from the penalty spot on 65 minutes. The game also saw Joey Barton get his first game just after rejoining the Clarets officially yesterday.

The Burnley team was: Nick Pope, Arlen Birch, Jimmy Dunne, Taofiq Olomowewe, Kwasinkosi Mpofu, Brad Jackson, Jamie Thomas (Freddy Yao 66), Joey Barton, Robbie Leitch (Tristan Jumeau ht), Josh Ginnelly, Ntumba Massanka. Subs not used: Tony Aghayere, Alex Whitmore.
