1617 burnley jamie thomas 01 800Jamie Thomas, who spent time last season with Ayr, could be set for a second loan spell in Scotland should he impress Dundee United boss Csaba Laszlo during a trial.

According to the Dundee Courier, Welsh under-19 international Thomas, who joined the Clarets from Bolton in the summer of 2016, is set to be handed a trial with Dundee United next week with a view to him joining them on loan for the second half of the season.

The now 20-year-old Thomas went to Ayr at the beginning of last season but made just seven appearances during August and September before returning to Turf Moor. He was playing exclusively up front then but has been impressing in our under-23 team recently in a midfield role.

Dundee United are pushing for promotion to the Scottish Premiership. They are currently second in the Championship, two points behind leaders St. Mirren.
