Tomorrow takes us one step closer to the Premier League
Burnley clinched promotion to the Premier League 43 days ago with a 1-0 home win against Queens Park Rangers and five days later we ensured we would be crowned champions as we won 3-0 in the final game of the season at Charlton Athletic.
I’ve always wondered when the 2015/16 season can safely be referred to as LAST rather than THIS season and likewise when 2016/17 as THIS rather than NEXT season. Our title winning season is now, as far as I’m concerned, most definitely last season, but tomorrow we can take another significant step towards 2016/17 moving from next to this with the announcement of the fixtures.
At 9 a.m. tomorrow, one week before the new and ridiculously named EFL announce theirs, the fixtures will be available. We’ll know who we are set to play on Saturday 13th August (or either of the days around it once television have got hold of the fixture list) and on every other game week date throughout the season.
It’s always eagerly awaited even though it is no more than a list showing our 19 home games and 19 away games.
Those fixtures will be here at Up the Clarets at 9 a.m. and where better to discuss them than at the Bee Hole End where I’m sure there will be plenty of debate as we all start planning our away trips.Share this page :
