1516 burnley youth team2 630x420The youth team travel to Walsall tomorrow. It’s the longest journey of the season for them and they will face a side who will still believe they have a chance of catching the top two Wigan and Bury.

Walsall have been strong at this level for a few years now and they currently sit third in the table, three points behind the top two but they have played two games more. They will be looking to complete the double over us having won the first game 2-1 when Nashé Chakwana got our goal.

They are not a team we’ve had too much success against in recent years and the last occasion we won at Walsall was in March 2012 when we recorded a 3-2 win with goals from Cameron Howieson, Aryn Williams and Steven Hewitt, three players no longer with the club.

More recently we beat them 1-0 at home three years ago this week with a goal from Jamie Frost who was released last month.
